Cerah sesaat ketika perang usai untuk kembali muram saat Sam harus kembali ke Amerika dan terpaksa berpisah sementara dengan Solange.

With three quilt size options and three pillow size options, there is an endless array of colour and design options to choose from! This work explores the history of kaleidoscopes, from Sir David Brewster's first patented scope in 1816, through to mass-produced toys and contemporary works of art.Create quilts filled with a myriad of cool, light and bright colours, centred on a kaleidoscope-inspired star block. It took me 2 months to read the book, so maybe if you read it in a shorter time period, you'll understand it better.

There were some moments here and there in the book that were really emotional, especially in the last part of the novel. The circumstances in which they had lost their parents was maddening enough, but life wasn’t done with them yet. I've read about 20 books in the past month and none of them moved past the internal gauge of 'passing the time', so of course it's this book that pushed the needle. Kaleidoscope is heartfelt, devastating, and just long enough to satisfy a reader who thirsts for modern, emotional family dramas. When John Chapman, lawyer and prestigious private investigator, is asked to find these three women, he wonders why.

Steel's writing in Kaleidoscope is undeniably strong, showcasing her ability to create suspense and maintain a sense of intrigue throughout the novel. I do find it hard to believe, again in my limited understanding of what exactly this was supposed to do, that this is a middle grade novel. Kaleidoscope is a feat of storytelling that illuminates how even the wildest tales can help us in the hardest times. Although there were parts that were beautifully written, and attempted messages that had the potential to be extremely powerful, none of that potential was tapped into.
