Description

Although combat is normally not a great idea as they are quite potent. Your best bet is to make as little noise as possible and stay hidden. Immerse yourself in the captivating world of "The Traitors" with this strategic family party game, based on the thrilling BBC TV series. Based on the hit reality competition, this game combines strategy and suspicion, offering a unique and engaging gameplay experience. Enter a realm of trust and treachery, where every player must navigate the shadows carefully. In this dark dramatic family game, the question arises: Who are you willing to betray to claim victory? Trust becomes scarce as players work together to amass a hoard of golden treasure, but danger lurks at every turn. Gather your loved ones and embark on this strategic adventure, where alliances are fragile and secrets abound. Will you emerge triumphant or fall prey to deceit? Trust no one and embrace the challenge in this captivating game. One of the players will be infected and known as the “host”. The host’s job is to try and infect the other players and stop them from destroying the hive. Each player has infection cards (only the host’s are real). When you enter a room with any other player, you have to swap one of your cards. If you encounter the host and he gives you an infection card (and you don’t have a counter card), you become one of the infected. If you are unsure of someone’s loyalty, you can also just blast them in the face with your gun instead of swapping cards. I suppose that becomes a viable option one the paranoia fully sets in.

Among the participants, there are Traitors hidden amidst the group, ready to strike under the cover of darkness. Will you be the victim tonight? Stay vigilant, keeping your shield close and your foes even closer. The game is set, and the stakes are high. Will you win the money pot? Will you be banished? If you are a board gamer and a fan of the TV show Battlestar Galactica (BSG) you need to own this game. Seriously. Go buy it right now…I’ll wait…Done? Good. It is rare that a board game so perfectly captures the essence of the source material the way BSG does. BSG puts the players in the role of the crew members of Battlestar Galactica. They are attempting to keep galactic and the human fleet alive as the make continuous FTL jumps towards a new home world. Hard choices and easy to learn game play are hallmarks of this great game. Sacrifices will constantly have to be made and the perusing Cylons can be relentless in their quest to wipe out humanity.Police Precinct is a new game to hit the market this year. Player take on the role of cops trying to solve a murder, while also trying to keep the streets safe from crime. Players move about the city looking for clues and evidence in hopes of catching the murderer before he makes his escape. During the hunt, more crimes and emergencies will appear to distract the police from their main objective. Players have to work together to stop the crimes in the city and complete the investigation before time runs out. And someone thought it would also make a good card game. Bring the murder for money motivation to game nights everywhere with The Traitors Card Game! Mo Money, Mo Murder? Social deduction is the name of the game here. Players have to use their gut, deduction and instinct to try and ferret out the traitors. This make the Resistance a great social game. It can accommodate up to 10 players is is incredible easy to play. A great choice if your group is looking for a more social game than traditional. I should note that The Resistance is clearly inspired by the very old game Werewolf, and is better game in my opinion (which is also why werewolf isn’t on this list). There are multiple Haunt phases possible, so you never know what or who will be the one. It’s that suspense of the unknown and the inevitable twist for the second stage that keeps this game highly popular. Those two get a couple more turns then if they are both still in the game, it’s time for the Traitor’s Dilemma to decide what they want to do next. Now, if you are one of the final two, you can pop your hoodie up and pretend to huddle in a stone turret a la the BBC. Or you can just take a Faithful and a Betrayal card and decide what you are in your heart; pure or devilish!

Nemesis is the original Alien movie in everything but an official license. But that does not make it any less thematic or frightening. The plot is similar. Your space vessel is infested with alien creatures and it’s your job as a crew to work together. You sneak around the ship, frantically repairing its systems, find a solution in the lab, or combat the alien intruders yourself. The haunted player will now receive special instructions on how the game will pan out and how he can win. Usually, it’s a fight to the death against the remaining players in tactical combat. The haunted player will receive some special powers (i.e. summoning monsters). The traitors are the heart of The Resistance. While most of the players are trying to complete the mission, there are a few players who are secretly spies trying to disrupt that attempt. Every round begins with some discussion, after which the leader will decide who goes on the mission. Once on the mission, the players chosen to go will secretly decide whether the mission passes or fails (based on the result of a secret vote). The spies will want to make sure the mission fails, without blowing their cover. The description reads: "Enter a realm of trust and treachery, where every player must navigate the shadows carefully. Among the participants, there are Traitors hidden amidst the group, ready to strike under the cover of darkness.

The aim of the faithfuls is to work out who is betraying them and ‘banish’ a suspect at the roundtable each evening. Spoiler ahead: it’s safe to say they aren’t very good at finding traitors. Naturally, the combined lure of money and the paranoia of traitors lurking among them leads to drama, crying, arguing and some unlikely touching moments between contestants (72-year-old Andrea is a fan favourite). Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. Secretly play the role of FAITHFUL or TRAITOR whilst working together to build up a central pot of gold. The Faithful must identify and banish the Traitors in their midst to win a share of the gold. The traitors must stay undetected until the end so that they can steal the prize fund. The zombie apocalypse has severely crippled humanity. The civilization has collapsed and only small groups of people still exist, trying to get by in a hostile world, full of flesh-eating monsters. To compound that, halfway through the game, another round of loyalty cards are dealt out. So you might have been 100% sure that the player next to you was human, perhaps not anymore. You yourself might have been working hard to help the human, only to now realize your on the other team. This concept will seem quite familiar to any fans of the TV show. The Resistance is a card game where players are trying to complete a series of missions. What the actual missions are, doesn’t really matter. Each round, the mission leader must choose some of the players at the table to go on the mission in the hopes that they will succeed. Choose the right players and the mission will pass and the players will get a victory point. Gain 3 successes and the players win.

Following the success of the smash hit BBC series, the new The Traitors Board Game will arrive in the UK & Ireland in September 2023. Vivid/Goliath is partnering with All3Media International and Identity Games to distribute the official Traitors Board Game in the UK & Ireland from September. In Dead of Winter, players are members of one such colony. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays. The hit reality TV show The Traitors is now filming its second UK season - and if you can't wait you can recreate the drama at home with an official board game. Based on the hit reality competition, the game combines strategy and suspicion, offering a unique and engaging gameplay experience. And this is what board games from this list are all about. Games where players are granted hidden roles from the start, and/or have a secret personal goal that they must accomplish, which is usually in conflict with the main group objective. The Haunt phase begins when certain parameters have been fulfilled. Depending on explored areas, who has which items, and a random factor one of the players is selected as a traitor, who gets possessed by the evil forces. In this dark dramatic family game, the question arises: Who are you willing to betray to claim victory? Trust becomes scarce as players work together to amass a hoard of golden treasure, but danger lurks at every turn.
