iZombie: The Complete Series Omnibus (2023 Edition) CollectsiZombie#1-28,House of Mystery Halloween Annual#1, andHouse of Mystery Halloween Annual#2. So, titles ranging from October 1959 through March 1960 start my version of Batman’s Silver Age aka his Earth-1 timeline. Of course, due to the numerous retcon exceptions (mostly from the late 70s and early 80s), a bunch of formerly Golden Age issues (from the 50s and early 1960) fill in the opening portion. Those issues are: The Silver Age marked a decline in horror, crime, romance, talking animal humor, and Westerns as American-comics genres. [40] Sinclair, Tom (June 20, 2003). Batman proved a hit character and received his own solo title in 1940, while continuing to star in Detective Comics. By that time, National Publications(the comic book division that would become DC Comics)was the top-selling and most influential publisher in the industry. Batman and the company's other major hero, Superman, were the cornerstones of the company's success. The third story arc was " Batman: Zero Year", which redefined Batman's origin in The New 52. It followed Batman #0 (published in June 2012), which explored the character's early years. Adventure Comics #361–380; Action Comics #377–387, 389–392; Superboy #147; Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #106 So it was always something of a poisoned chalice when a comicbook character became so popular that it swam against the tide (after all weren’t the funny-books invented just to reprint the strips in cheap accessible form?) and became a syndicated serial strip. Both Superman and Wonder Woman made the jump soon after their debuts and many features have done so since. Standard caveat: This has not been solicited by DC yet, so nothing is official until it’s official. Even then, things can change. Just keep coming to 13th Dimension for updates.

Action Comics, All-Star Western, Animal Man, Aquaman, Batgirl, Batman, Batman and Robin, Batman Incorporated, Batman: The Dark Knight, Batwing, Batwoman, Birds of Prey, Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, DC Universe Presents, Deathstroke, Demon Knights, Detective Comics, Dial H, Earth 2, The Flash, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E., The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men, G.I. Combat, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern: New Guardians, Grifter, I...Vampire, Justice League, Justice League Dark, Legion Lost, Legion of Super-Heroes, Nightwing, Phantom Stranger, The Ravagers, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Red Lanterns, Resurrection Man, The Savage Hawkman, Stormwatch, Suicide Squad, Superboy, Supergirl, Superman, Swamp Thing, Sword of Sorcery, Talon, Team 7, Teen Titans, Voodoo, Wonder Woman, World's Finest

Last but not least, Voiles has Batman #81 and up all listed as Earth-1 stories because #81 features Two-Face’s re-scarring and return to crime. However, in my opinion Batman #81 is not canon on Earth-1. The Brave and the Bold #197 clearly states that Two-Face was active in early 1955. Superman Family #211 shows that a rehabilitated and surgically repaired Harvey Kent attends Bruce’s wedding in the summer of 1955. Therefore, on Earth-2, Harvey does indeed become Two-Face again in #81. We must merely assume that he reforms shortly after that, as Superman Family tells us. What does it all mean? Not only are most historians totally wrong about this fact, but it also means that we must go by the March 1960 marker once again. Using the March 1960 date, we have… Batman became a founding member of The Justice League Of America, appearing in its first story in 1960s Brave And The Bold#28 (March 1960).The stories in this compendium reflect gentler times and an editorial policy focusing as much on broad humour as Batman’s reputation as a manhunter, so the colourful, psychotic costumed super-villains are in a minority here, but if you’re of a certain age or open to fun-over-thrills this a collection well worth your attention. DC added to its momentum with its 1960 introduction of Justice League of America, a team consisting of the company's most popular superhero characters. [ citation needed] Martin Goodman, a publishing trend-follower with his 1950s Atlas Comics line, note 1 by this time called Marvel Comics, "mentioned that he had noticed one of the titles published by National Comics seemed to be selling better than most. It was a book called The [sic] Justice League of America and it was composed of a team of superheroes", Marvel editor Stan Lee recalled in 1974. Goodman directed Lee to likewise produce a superhero team book, resulting in The Fantastic Four #1 (November 1961). [24]

The Silver Age of Comic Books in DC Comics is held to have begun in 1956 when the publisher introduced Barry Allen as a new, updated version of The Flash in DC Showcase #4 (October 1956).Batman Knightfall Omnibus Vol. 1 (New Edition) – September 19, 2023 Collects Wonder Woman #0-35, 23.1 and a story from Secret Origins #6 Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland are no different than most boys. They love adventure, games, and spending time outdoors. They're curious about girls, curious about life, and particularly curious when it comes to mysteries. You see, Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland happen to be two of the best detectives in England. Note that we didn't say living in England. That's because Edwin and Charles aren't living in England. In fact, they're not living at all. CollectsThe Dead Boy Detectives#1-12,Sandman Presents: Dead Boy Detectives#1-4,The Sandman#25,The Children's Crusade#1-2,Ghosts#1,The Witching Hour#1,Time Warp#1,Doom Patrol Annual#2, andSwamp Thing Annual#7. Batman & Robin Eternal OmnibusHardcover – September 19, 2023 Batman Family #12–20; Detective Comics #481–499, 501–502, 505–506, 508–510, 512–519; Batgirl Special #1 With the beginning of The New 52, the then-present of the DC Universe was retconned to be only five years from the first appearance of Superman. This caused several problems. S o, a lot we know from Batman's history is now crammed into a 5-year timeline? How could there be four (or five?) Robins in such short time?
