Yes, you can. Simply make the cake batter as instructed then transfer to a 1-inch deep rectangular cake tin approx 12×8 inchs (30×20 cm). Decorate the top with the buttercream and the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolates of your preference. Ideas for decorating this Dairy Milk cake Gosh, there are so many options for decorating this Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate cake. Here are a few of my favourite daydreams on this subject: Put ⅓ of the buttercream into a small bowl. Crumble the Cadbury’s Flake into pieces and mix half of it into the ⅓ buttercream. Remove the ice cream from the freezer for around 20 minutes to soften. Re-line the clean cake tin, leaving excess paper hanging over the edges to later use as handles. Horizontally slice the cake into two layers and put one in the bottom of the cake tin. Divide the buttercream in half and set aside one half. With the remaining half, divide the buttercream into 3 equal parts. Color each bowl of buttercream with sky blue gel food color, make one light blue, one medium blue and one dark blue.

You’ll learn every step to make this snowflake cake at home. It starts with the foundation of a great cake recipe. That’s why I love this semi-homemade cake recipe; it begins with a vanilla cake mix that’s mixed with a pound cake that helps stabilize the cake when building three layers high. Plus, it’s perfect for beginners because it’s easy to follow directions. Please don’t use Cadbury’s Highlights chocolate powders. Over the years I’ve read countless horror stories about the results of baking with low-calorie chocolate powders. I haven’t tested this recipe with Highlights and I don’t intend to. This cake is far from low-calorie so there’s really no point in risking inferior results by using a skinny chocolate powder. Each ingredient has its place and purpose in this Dairy Milk chocolate cake. Leaving things out or making substitutions is really not advisable. If in doubt about something please send me a message, I may be able to advise before baking commences. This Snowflake cake is made with three light and fluffy semi-homemade vanilla cake layers filled with creamy vanilla buttercream and white chocolate snowflakes. Divide equally between the cake tins (greased and lined) and bake until a skewer poked into the centre of the cake comes out clean.

This snowflake cake is simply beautiful with the ombre blue on the outside and the sanding sugar giving the cake the ice effect! In a medium bowl, melt the white chocolate and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or until fully melted. Please also avoid the version of hot chocolate that is designed to be mixed with hot water rather than milk. Again, I’ve not tested the recipe with this product. And there's no need to go to all the effort of making one yourself either, as there are plenty of birthday cakes to choose from at your local supermarket that taste delicious and mean that there's no mess for you to clean up afterwards. Some cakes can be personalised to make them even more special. Spoiling your loved one on their birthday shouldn't break the bank. The best supermarket birthday cakes at a glance:
