As I mentioned, the size is relatively compact. I think Mignon means mini in Italian, and maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it’s definitely small. Standard with Eureka grinders is the ease of use of micrometric grind adjustment to hone in on the ideal grind. Dosing with the Eureka Mignon Specialita is direct in to your basket, hands-free no mess. Grinding by pressing the handle against the auto-start button, you can manually grind or use one of two pre-set programmed doses. While the 55mm burrs seem to suffice, larger would definitely be nicer! Some variants use 50mm burrs which are even smaller

The Eureka Mignon Specialita Coffee Grinder is simply brilliant. It delivers a precision grind and looks beautiful in any kitchen. This Eureka Grinder is a game-changer for coffee at home! Eureka Mignon Specialita Coffee Grinder - Chrome If you are used to a Baratza, Smart Grinder Pro, etc. you might use your grinder for more than just espresso. While this can do more than just espresso, it is designed to be a dedicated espresso grinder. I find this as a pro! but some might not. These guys are a coffee roastery and equipment suppliers to coffee shops etc., who've been around for decades, and have more recently started supplying equipment and coffee to retail customers too. What About Cups & Glasses??

We're talking about completely different kinds of grinders, so it's a difficult comparison. The Niche Zero has great burrs, big 63mm conical burrs, being conical burrs make it more compatible with single dosing – and it has no hopper, as it's meant as a single doser.

Product Overview

With the top burr holder removed you can clean both burrs as well as inspect them for any major damage or for dullness. I don't have any problems with clumping or grind quality, thankfully. The are excellent, and comparable to the Sette 270. The minor clumping I do get will likely go away as the burrs are seasoned. Price-wise, the Oro is typically costlier, but its superior features may justify the price for some. The Specialita provides great grind quality at a more budget-friendly price.

Once you get your grind dialed in fairly close, there are + and - buttons on the display to change the shot grinding time. Again I recommend using a scale to get as close to your desired shot weight as possible. The XL thing doesn't really apply to the grinder itself, the Mignon XL is the same width and depth, and just 3cm taller. It's 1.6Kg heavier, too. I say “precise” grinding numbers, as on the other models there are just five numbers, they're all stepless, but you only have 5 numbers as a guide, while you have a lot more guides on the perfetto. Purge the grinder for a second or so between shots. This is the obvious fix, but it is an extra step in your workflow and contributes to more coffee waste. Distinguished by its modern, square body and bean hopper, the Specialita exudes Italian flair and comes in a variety of color options to complement your espresso machine. As you would expect, the build quality of this grinder is superb. Weighing a substantial 12 lbs, it is encased in steel that can withstand rigorous use. The Specialita is the highest specification version in the range, coming with some amazing features including: Finally, the ground retention. My problem is not that it's high, but that is inconsistent. I often see retention between 0.2 and 0.5 grams. This is annoying, if it was consistently 0.5grams retention I at least won't have to weigh my portafilter after each grind. This just adds an unnecessary step I don't want to perform before I'm caffeinated. Now I know there are Bellow you can buy from Etsy to get around this problem, but my point is that out of the box none of these problems exist with the Sette 270. You're certainly not going to wake anyone up by grinding coffee first thing in the morning, in fact, you could probably stand by the grinder and easily have a chat with the person stood next to you without having to raise your voice over the noise of the grinder. Moreover, the aesthetic appeal of the Eureka Mignon coffee grinder adds a touch of elegance to any kitchen or coffee bar. Its modern Italian design is an artful combination of form and function, showcasing Eureka's commitment to style and substance.
