Description

The downsides to this unit are the slower heat-up time and below-average battery life but the taste and cool temps of the vapor production are totally worth the wait. This is the best vaporizer for people who like a free-flowing draw. Pax 2 Review Summary Anyone wondering how to use a Pax 2 vaporizer should know that it couldn’t be any easier. The one press mouthpiece technology with the PAX 2 makes it very simple to operate. When first using the unit, the LED petals may seem a bit confusing and random but they are actually pretty intuitive: purple means the unit is heating, green means its fully heated and ready for vaping, and blue means it’s entering ‘cool down’ mode to conserve battery. I use *VODKA INSTEAD OF ISOP. ALCOHOL* to clean it, because the latter is toxic and I don’t trust it, it gave me allergies. One other thing you could try is making the outlet hole on the mouthpiece a little bigger with a small drill or screwdriver, but I would recommend buying a second mouthpiece and trying it on that in case it doesn’t work out. The moutpiece works fine for me because I soak it in soapy water and seasalt while I’m cleaning the rest of it and I also lubricate it well.)

There’s also a way to temporarily choose a temperature other than what’s in the app. Rebooting your PAX 3 will reset the Ramp temperature to your app setting. Conclusion Next you take the screen and with the bottom of the U facing down place it on top of your material in the oven. The screen’s job is to take up the extra space in the chamber while keeping some pressure on your material so that it stays pressed against the base and walls of the oven.Did anyone else notice similar issues with their Pax 2 as far as the odor/smell? Any suggestions on how to mitigate it? The Pax 2 has been my go-to portable vaporizer for “outdoor” activities for quite some time now with the Pax 3 taking over recently. The small form factor and tough outer shell make it one of the most durable portable vaporizers for outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, skateboarding, rollerblading, skiing/snowboarding, etc. I have dropped it in the snow, ran over it with my bike, dropped it on the trails many times and the Pax 2 is still going strong. You also get a 2-year warranty for that extra little piece of mind.

The thing I didn’t get to read on forums so far, is that you need to TRAIN yourself to CHANGE the way you [indulge] when you get a vaporizer, imho. The oven in the new PAX 2 is a tiny bit smaller but it’s also slightly deeper. They designed the new one this way to maximize the surface area of material being heated which helps it perform a little better. different heat settings with lip and motion sensing technology that optimizes power and temperature during use If you don’t want to buy a new grinder there are a couple of things you could try with what you have. First thing to keep in mind is that you’ll get a finer grind and more vapor if your herb is fully dried out with very little moisture left in it. After you initially grind your material you can try spreading it out on a sheet of paper for a short while to dry even more, then you can try vaping as-is or re-grinding again to break it down a little more.

Charge before use

In less than 60 seconds the petals will turn solid green to indicate the PAX 2 has reached the desired temperature and it’s ready for you to take draws. To change the PAX 2 temperature setting, press down on the mouthpiece for a couple seconds and the unit will enter ‘temperature mode’. However, What’s my Vape Temp did some probe testing and provided some valuable insights on this front. Because the PAX uses motion sensors to ensure the heating chamber is not wasting energy, the temperature settings fluctuate. I had recently bought the original PAX at a somewhat reduced price from your link, right before PAX2 came out, and I’m glad. I like it quite a bit, in fact I never want to smoke again! I kinda like the smell that comes off the oven too, in fact I love it almost as much as vaping! And it’s still stealthier than smoking. Loose material in the oven and not grinding fine enough are the leading causes of poor vapor production and disappointing results. To turn the PAX 2 on, simply press the center of the mouthpiece one time. The LED lights, or ‘petals’ as Ploom refers to them as, will begin to pulse purple to indicate the unit is heating up.

The oven, despite being deeper, is 91% the size of the original oven, due to it being slightly thinner. It still holds a good amount of herbs. I absoloutely love my pax2 have no desire to get a 3 , some people think it’s pricey but it’s 100 percent worth it , will never return to smoking. Taste, efficiency and vapor production are said to be improved with this lip-sensing feature, and I’d have to agree with that. That being said, I switched from 8 a day to one or two smoking sessions a day. I [feel more effects], for longer and feel more satisfied than before. I also use WAY less herb. Fully charging the battery to 100% will take between 2-3 hours if it’s completely depleted, and from a full charge you can expect at least 90 minutes of usage before it dies. It’ll last a tad longer on the lower heat settings – on level 2 I’ve been getting around eight 12-minute sessions which is not too shabby.

Packed extra tight

The original model has above average draw resistance, meaning it doesn’t feel completely free-flowing when you pull from it. Conduction vapes are usually like this because sometimes too little resistance in the draw can actually hinder vapor production. The new one is better in this area and feels more free-flowing, most notably when it’s clean and there’s no residue restricting airflow around the screen. What you want to do is bend up the edges of the screen so that it creates somewhat of a U shape – you can try bending it around a pencil to keep the curve uniform. Then, depending on the size of the screen you use, you’ll probably need to trim off the edges so that it will fit inside the oven properly, which you should be able to do easily with scissors. Overall Size Specs– The Pax 2 weighs 90.2g and the exact dimensions are 3.87” tall, 1.21” wide, and .08” deep. This makes the Pax 2 one the best vapes in terms of portability and discretion. The PAX 2 works best with a very fine grind, and we find the best way to achieve that is with a two-piece grinder. If you’d rather use your four-piece grinder, you can turn the top two tiers upside down to give your herbs more time between the teeth. However, if you are looking for a device with a big draw and like to “rip” your dry herb, then I would look at something like the Crafty or the Arizer Air. I quite like sipping and a tightish draw, so the PAX 2 was right up my street.

I’d say the taste is good overall, it’s above average for sure and flavor is improved over the original. It’s better in the beginning of your session but the vapor is always pretty pure, and for its small size the vapor quality is actually pretty impressive. Finally the material looks all “burnt”, brown colour, after the system heats once. Is that normal or is the material done? That was more than 2 questions I think ha

Verdict

In my opinion, the only thing I would improve on the PAX-1 would be *the way the oven roasts the herb only on one side*— and you have to open it, stir it before it roasts the rest that’s close to the battery. But from watching this video it doesn’t look like they fixed that problem!
