When it finally gave up the ghost earlier this year I was ready to replace with another No7, but the current model had quite poor reviews. Any mirror offering higher magnification isn’t suitable as a make up mirror because you’d need to get really close to the mirror itself. A tell-tale sign of amateur application, a rushed morning routine, or, in my case, a bathroom light that’s no brighter than a firefly. I notice a slight burning/tingling sensation (especially around the eyes) when I put it on, and now after day two the corners of my eyes (where my crows feet are) are quite red and blotchy.

In comparison to the predecessor, this version has a dimmer switch for different light settings as well as a pivoting motion for all the positions required to help you with your beauty regime. All work fine, but if you notice your can is pretty liquidy, skip or do less almond milk or they’ll be gooey and take forever to bake. I can feel a slight tingle, but have had zero issues with redness, even with every night use from the start. The Boots illuminated makeup mirror is one of the best quality and most affordable on the market, which is why it's so popular. After weeks of applying my make-up in the dark, bringing this make-up mirror into my morning routine really did make a noticeable difference. Indulge in the sweet, citrus aroma and lightweight gel texture that glides effortlessly onto skin for a glowing, more even complexion. It does look like Boots is the cheapest around so be quick if you want to get your hands on one as we doubt they will be sticking around for long.

The super-light formula applies smoothly and absorbs quickly, leaving skin looking and feeling fresh, energised, and awakened. After playing around with all three settings, surveying my face and plucking, poking and applying products, keep reading to find out what I loved and loathed. Since becoming short sighted I’d be lost without it, excellent for eye make up application and thorough removal, finding naughty unwanted hairs and cleansing. Some mention that it is a good quality sturdy mirror, while others say that it was not very well made, came smashed, and had the glass broken. The cool white (which has both a dim and bright option) seems to show all hairs, pores and fine lines, while the warm white adds a softer glow that doesn’t result in as much over-analysis.The question is does everybody else see the flaws from the super high def mirror or do they see the 80s soft glow version of me? One reflects your face in a way any standard mirror might, which makes it a great option for applying make-up, while the other has five times the magnification, perfect for close-up inspecting, plucking or poking. If eating as a snack I’d add some nuts, nut butter, or yogurt to be satisfied and properly shut off hunger hormones or else you’ll be hungry in like 1 hour with the lonely muffin by itself. So, you'll go off merrily to work with patchy foundation and eyes done in two different colour eyeshadow, but if you're British noone will mention it, so it's all good. After around 30 minutes, you can unplug the device and leave it on any surface, ready to use for a good few days.
