Verán estos libros yo los encontré por casualidad en remate en una feria del libro, como las portadas me llamaron mucho la atención ls compre sin saber de qué se trataba la historia, pero como lo he dicho es buena la historia. anyway, i can imagine that this book could be very appealing to my twelve-year-old self, so probably any twelve to thirteen-year-old right now can find it interesting. My first Ruby Redfort book, but certainly it won't be the last one! I will be getting this whole series. Maybe, I will wait until summer and my vacation, so I can eat, um read, these while relaxing in the sun (at least I hope it will be sunny :P). Child has also written 3 other books to the series, 'Take Your Last Breath' and 'Catch Your Death' and 'Feel The Fear,’ Available soon. The thing is… my daughter doesn’t like them. She is a fan of fantasy and mystery and also very much of mixed-up fairy tales. Ruby Redfort falls into the secret agent mystery category. Although not a big fan of Clarice Bean, I thought Windsor would like these more because of the mystery. But she has set them aside, twice, to continue plowing through yet another mixed-up fairy tale series (even though I found the other series inferior…) and has yet to finish even the first one.

There’s a lot to lose sleep over in Twinford: there’s the snakes and the bivalves, but they aren’t half as poisonous as the rumours. With so many twists and turns it’s hard to know who to trust, particularly when no one trusts you. Will Ruby make it out in one piece? Well, happy endings are for fairy tales, bozo. There are now six books in the series. Book 1 in the Ruby Redfort series is Look Into My Eyes and you’ll need to start there to find out about her beginnings as an agent and read through to the thrilling conclusion in Blink and You Die when we say goodbye to Ruby. I really loved this book, I am giving extra points for the fact that this takes place in a time before we had cellphones, before internet, before anything really fancy actually. The kids use pay phones, or the landline, Ruby and Clancy have a secret code and leave notes. If they want to research something they use their brains, and in Ruby's case lots of books. It was something that I loved. So many detective stuff these days are full of people just googling stuff and figuring it out within the blink of an eye, while with this one you actually had fun seeing the characters struggle and think about the answers. I got slightly irritated by that. I don’t know whether it is meant to make me laugh. I mean, come one, Ruby! Who cares what he’s doing? Did you really have to make a conversation out of that?

I think you may be getting too into your cover story,” said Ruby, her nose in the refrigerator, searching for the juice. I love how the title from the book is also explained and you can clearly see the correlation, with my book's edition it was even better since there is also an apple included on the cover! Both the characters of Hitch and Clancy, Ruby's two main friends in the know, are very amusing to read about. I particularly like Hitch. Clancy is a bit strange, and the way he and Ruby talk to one another seems very unrealistic for two thirteen year olds. I mean, not many people talk like that anymore. Ruby's smart, but why must she insist on talking ungrammatically? However, if you just let yourself forget that aspect, Take Your Last Breath is certainly an enjoyable read. what do you do when you don't feel well and have lots of homework hanging over you? read ruby redfort.

Child makes her dialogues sound like they have been taken from Dashiel Hammet, so we have a bunch of 13-year-olds talking like Bogart in the Maltese Falcon… and I’m not keen on this kind of noir-speech at the best of times. At the worst of times – looking at you here, Ellery Queen – it makes me disengage with the book simply because there is no discernible meaning conveyed in the dialogues. If you haven’t noticed by now, this way of writing really grinds my gears. The thing is… I love Lauren Child. Love her. I know I already said that, but there is something (or many somethings) that I really like about her and her style and her voice. From her children’s book illustrations to the spunky attitude of all her characters, I have been caught by the whole shebang hook, line, and sinker. So perhaps its not for everyone, but it is for me. And it is for plenty of people. Especially Brits? Maybe. But Charlie and Lola hold their own here in the US. Hitch was sitting at the kitchen table, polishing some silverware and looking for all the world like an actual butler. Despite all this bad, I still enjoyed it. Clancy and his extreme fear of the ocean was the likely to be the most hilarious in the book. Miss Digby and Hitch are still the same, with their witty remarks and the Count remains evil. Hitch was awesome, I loved how he was a secret agent, but also a butler/house keeper. He really reminded me of Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji. He is a perfect butler with a double agenda. I loved how caring and protective he was about Ruby. I would see him not only as a butler, or a house keeper, but also as one of her friends.Child grew up in Wiltshire as the middle child of three sisters and the daughter of two teachers. She has always been interested in the many aspects of childhood, from gazing into toy shop windows to watching American children's shows from the 1960s. After attending two Art Schools, she travelled for six months, still unsure about which career to embark upon. Another scene was when Ruby pointed out that Clancy, her best friend, used the word ‘sweethearts’ in an ‘old lady-type’ of way. I really don’t care, just let him say that. He’s still awesome! Just because he used ‘sweethearts’ in a different ‘uncool’ context, doesn’t mean you need to point it out! I decided to read this book because I own and have read every other book in the series and I got this book as a present. I had a laugh many times at the situations that Ruby gets into. She really gets into a lot of trouble at times, doesn't she?

The villains names are all cheesy and corny. Count von Viscount, Lorelei von Leyden, Babyface Marshall. I am definitely curious to other criminals, do they all have such cheesy names? Another great instalment to the Ruby Redfort series! To think that it is the supposed second-to-last novel! Yes it is a kids book... but I used to read clarice bean as a child and I couldnt miss this new series! Lauren Child is such a great author, I recommend this book to those who like mystery novels, adventure books and an interesting read.Lauren Child MBE is an English author and illustrator. She was the UK Children's Laureate from 2017-19. I read the first two of six total books. The first four are titled Look Into My Eyes, Take Your Last Breath, Catch Your Death, and Feel the Fear. The other two titles are not yet released, but will be in the next couple years. Yeah, she already believes you’re a butler; you don’t need to make out you’re the best entire one to ever polish on this earthly universe of Twinford.”

Her book I Will Not Ever Never Eat A Tomato won the 2000 Kate Greenaway Medal. For the 50th anniversary of the Medal (1955–2005), a panel named it one of the top ten winning works, which comprised the shortlist for a public vote for the nation's favourite. It finished third in the public vote from that shortlist. Just a gripping classic. Felt more cleverer because I understood all of the mathematical symbols in one of the qs for the Spectrum test (couldn't understand the question...but the symbols are a step closer!) now to read the rest before testing negative! i feel confused about this book. i did like ruby, but probably because she is so precocious, most of the time she felt like an older teenager and the way she talked with her friends using "old pal" and "old friend"? who is she? colombo?? fO.oSiempre he escuchado que se quejan en el caso de mi país México , que no es un país lector, o que los jóvenes no nos gusta leer, pero para mi ese no es el motivo. I really enjoyed this book as it is very cleverly written, because you feel you are finding the clues with Ruby. The plot has a lot of different stories included in it, which makes it unexpected and leaves you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend for ages 10+ I loved how everything came together in the end. How even some things I didn't expect had something to do with the bigger picture! It was definitely a moment that made me go AH!! and look startled. I won't spoil what all those things are of course or what the bigger picture is in the end, you will have to read on your own.
