Maybe it's because I'm getting overloaded with all of the fae romances leading to multiple realms and someone who didn't know they were a Queen and now they have to war against other kingdoms...it's just not an original thematic element to use to carry on a series anymore. I'd like to see Auren & Slade's story come to an end and for the focus to shift to one of the other kingdoms we don't know much about and develop the world overall rather than dragging this current story out.

Yes. I recommend it for people who like To Bleed a Crystal Bloom, The Four Horseman Series by Laura Thalassa and A Touch of Darkness. Literally so many times I had to put the book down and stop reading because of the disturbing scenes like wow does this have all the trigger warnings out there. I knew this was going to be dark, but ahaha I wasn't expecting this💀 This is definitely adult. Anyone who plans to read this—make sure to look at the trigger warnings and prepare yourself.As a character, Auren has grown so much since book 1 and I've loved getting to see that change as it develops and she becomes better and better about well, everything. That's what I love - when a character is allowed (and written) to grow and show their development in such a way that a) it's not rushed and b) it feels authentic. Suddenly, my trust is broken. My love is challenged. And I realize that everything I thought I knew about Midas might be wrong.

Cutting off the ties of those who are toxic to your well-being is an extremely hard task that demands unimaginable courage and strength. We get 3 chapters for Queen Malina whose entire plotline seems to be the most important one going into Gold. 3 plus the epilogue showing what I stated in the previous sentence. She's the one building the road for an entire book and she gets 4 chapters out of 66 (if we include the epilogue), that equals 6% for someone who was the most relevant for the plot going out of Glow? Wow. But - it gets worse.
