The importance of social connections: The author highlights the importance of social connections in creating a culture of trust, and provides examples of how organizations that foster strong social bonds between employees are more successful and innovative.

Companies also encourage this addiction to performance by rewarding employees for achieving better and faster results, without taking into account the long-term consequences of their actions. This breaks down the various chemicals in our body that are designed to help us survive but often reinforce a negative environment.

Leaders Eat Last" explores the power of creating a positive organizational culture by examining the science of human motivation and the importance of leaders being the ones to create and sustain that culture. I couldn't get rid of the impression that author is trying to get easy applause by combining common truths (or statesments you can't deny) and unobvious, "sensational" findings (better presented in many other books, btw). I found myself needing to inject "she", "her", "they", and "their" an awful lot because this book reads old fashioned. One of the key ideas presented here is that a company's culture and values are shaped by its leaders, particularly CEOs, and can have a significant impact on employees' mindset and behavior. Abstraction and Dehumanization: how global systems, virtual interactions and management via numbers/metrics can be dangerous and lead to irresponsible or even monstrous acts. Many think that a leader exists to be served, but the great truth is that to lead, you have to serve people, help them achieve their goals, grow and overcome challenges. When people know that their leaders are concerned about protecting them, they can work harder and more focused, without worrying about external threats. One gets a better understanding and appreciation of how our biological wiring works in current times with the technology, habits and rituals of modern society. As stated in the book, “Leaders are the ones willing to look out for those to the left of them and those to the right of them.

The hotel's culture prioritized guest safety over profits, which ultimately led to employees risking their lives to protect the guests. The example of Goldman Sachs illustrates how the shift in leadership can significantly impact a company's culture and values. As businesses operate on a global scale, it becomes easier to think of people as abstractions such as consumers, shareholders, or expenses. He has popped up on my IG and sometimes on Youtube shorts and he is a very good speaker and in my opinion and many of the people who read the book. The author is American so it is his right to do so but as someone who looks at the bigger picture, it rubbed me the wrong way.
