There’s a lot to freak out about with a frostmourn, but easily the most terrifying ability that these ghoulish giants gain is the power to turn its targets into frozen statues. A creature petrified in this way has a single hit point and will shatter if they take bludgeoning damage, killing them. Frostmourn Tactics Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong. Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giantsdelves into the ancient history of one of the primordial empires on the Material Plane, the legendary giants. The book sheds light on the giants’ ordning—the hierarchical structure of their civilization—as well as their religious beliefs and societal organizations across different realms. There’s a new frost giant who has gone all in on evil, Elemental Evil that is. The frost giant of Evil Water is tied to the Princes of Elemental Evil featured in Princes of the Apocalypse. The Princes of Elemental Evil are godlike beings from the elemental planes. They lead devoted cults and seek to use their respective elements for sheer destruction. This section of the book presents giants as complex societies that aren’t meant to be the monsters of every story. Similar to most supplements, it provides information on different pieces of lore (social structure, customs, factions, etc.) along with rollable tables that you can use to customize your own adventures.

The feats are all quite strong, as most of the 4th-level feats come with an ASI and a full feat’s worth of benefit. But, as we’ve seen with the latest 5e content and 2024 Player’s Handbook playtests, they also come with a feat tree-esque restriction system, which should balance things out a bit. We’ve reviewed each of these feats in-depth in our separate feat guides:Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants is almost exclusively a book for DMs. Chapters two to six focus on crafting convincing Giant characters and settings. Basically, it’s a book filled to the brim with tables – encounters, items, plot hooks, you name it. Bigby the Great recounts his journeys into the history, myth, and society of giants in this guide to their realms in the worlds of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants’ All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam’s mighty descendants. The “Invoking” system they’ve come up with is pretty neat. Essentially, each magic item has a passive ability, but you can also invoke the rune inscribed on the item to produce a once-a-day effect that recharges at the next dawn. This makes for interesting resource management, but be careful with these items. They could easily skew the power level of your players if you’re playing in a campaign that doesn’t frequent multiple encounters per day. Giant Bestiary Because of this, giants often do not pray to their progenitor but to his divine children and other hero-deities that constitute the giants' pantheon. The sons of Annam, representing each subsection of giantkind, hold significant positions among the religious beliefs of the various giant civilizations.
