Ultraportables' displays come in an increasingly varied array of resolutions, from now-humdrum 720p (1,366 by 768 pixels) in the very cheapest budget models, to full HD (1,920 by 1,080 pixels) as the mainstream norm, to Ultra HD or 4K (3,840 by 2,160 pixels), with a few nonstandard resolutions peppered between full HD and UHD.

Many of us have flashlights on our phones, but they aren’t always convenient to use or the best option. Compact cameras with sensors larger than 1-inch in size are typically limited to fixed-focal-length lenses, which is great for quality but less so for flexibility. As you'd guess, oversize palmtops look like bigger versions of palmtops. Widths and depths can be up to a little more than 8 inches, and weights are typically between 2 and 4 pounds. Native resolution is typically 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, but at least one offers 4K (3,840 by 2,160 pixels) at this writing, while rated brightness is typically between 400 and 800 ANSI lumens, which can give you a big-enough picture to see all the detail 1080p promises. Keep in mind also that you'll find any number of standard, mainstream projectors that weigh between 5 and 6 pounds that are also reasonably portable, and in some cases even include "portable" as part of their model names. They include single-chip DLP and three-chip LCD models, can be virtually any common resolution, and can use lamps or solid-state light sources. They can also be designed primarily for business or for home use, and they all require AC power. Typical brightness levels are 3,000 to 4,000 lumens, making them good choices if you need a large image in a brightly lit room. Cable– Nearly every iPhone and Android device has a video output port. Most projectors still use HDMI as their standard input port, so a simple adapter from either the USB-C connector on an Android or HDMI connector on the iPhone will enable you to get the cable connected – all you need to do is change the source to start screen mirroring from your phone to a projector. Color accuracy – While commercial cinema projectors have strict color standards, there are still many classroom and conference room projectors that are not very color accurate. For newer home theater and commercial projectors, Rec. 709 is the standard for color accuracy and measurement to look for in the specifications. The downsides include a small and relatively low-res viewfinder, plus a fixed touchscreen. These are symptoms of this camera's age, but a small EVF is still better than no viewfinder when you're shooting in sunny conditions, and this camera otherwise offers modern conveniences like 10fps burst shooting, 4K video shooting and built-in Wi-Fi.

In addition to being well-suited to the same sort of applications as palmtop projectors, but for bigger audiences or brighter rooms, oversize palmtops can also serve as business projectors for small conference rooms. Models that handle movies and video well are good choices for casual viewing at home, particularly for ad hoc setup as needed. Some even include built-in Android TV or other smart TV choices for streaming. Mainstream Mini Projectors By and large, the most travel-friendly systems are not suited to gaming. Don't expect the integrated graphics to suffice for playing much more than a few less-demanding games on lower-detail settings. Let's go from what's inside a typical ultraportable to the most visible aspect of the exterior: the screen. If you're looking for a decent projector, it's a good choice. Only a handful of smartphones offer the versatility of optical zoom. While zoom range varies by model, most of the best compact cameras feature this as standard. Even with huge improvements to the quality of digital zoom technology, it can rarely compete with the quality of optical zoom when it comes to preserving detail. This is particularly true for street and travel photographers. A compact is less conspicuous than a professional full-frame camera, making it easier to shoot comfortably in public. In addition, an increasing number of light-laptop makers have moved their ultraportable models to screens with squarer aspect ratios, such as 16:10 or 3:2, away from the much more common 16:9. That's a trend we saw ramping up a couple of years ago, and it's continuing. Additionally, brilliant OLED display technology is making its way into some of our favorite laptop lines. Next, up, apps. Your projector is only as smart as the apps running on it. So, it makes sense to have an app store enabled on your projector. Does the projector you’re looking at come with app store integration? To work with apps, enable voice commands, and stream movies (all at the same time) look for a smart projector with ample processors, memory, and storage. You want low running costs: The Go is an inexpensive camera itself, but its instant film is anything but, being costlier than rival Fujifilm Instax film. You want a flip screen: The LCD screen is fixed which makes selfies and awkward shooting angles a challenge.
