Best Before Dates: The dates on Japanese items go year-month-day so 19-8-16 would be August 16th 2019. All items should have at least 2-3 months before their best before dates.

TIP:Taiyaki always remind me of the 1,500 year old Hikawa Shrine in Kawagoe, where you’re able to literally fish for a small paper tai containing your fortune for the year ahead. My Kawagoe day trip from Tokyo article has all the details.

Mini Plum Mochi is another favourite. I basically opened the small box and ate them all in one sitting. I'm not even ashamed to admit this.

On the other hand, Tokyo Treat is geared towards a younger audience, including kids and those who have a fondness for the vibrant subcultures of Japan. This box is perfect for those who yearn for the sweets found in konbini stores and prefer a more youthful vibe. Your preferences may be different to mine, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed each of the goodies in this Japanese sweets box. I now have a few specific favourites I know I’ll keep an eye out for on my next Japan trip! Let’s take a look at the kinds of items you’ll receive: Taiyaki & Dorayaki So, what did I think of Sakuraco overall? I believe Sakuraco is worth it, especially for those of us who enjoy learning about Japanese history and culture through food. Rich Ogura Bread Loaf (Saitama) is a cake like bread filled with swirls of ogura which is an azuki bean jam. Sakura Cream Gaufrette (Mie) is a cream sandwich that is not only visually appealing, but also heavenly to the taste buds. The delicate wafer layers of the gaufrette have a stunning cherry blossom pattern, which make it look so delicate and elegant.Usually filled with red bean paste, manju on the other hand are filled with red bean paste and coated in a bread-like exterior. In our opinion, the homeware you get in each Sakuraco subscription box is not cheap and is of good quality. We've received items like bowls, glassware and plates before and they all felt sturdy and built to last. I was over the moon when invited to review this box and I’m delighted to say Sakuraco exceeded my expectations. Through sharp attention to detail the box perfectly embodies omotenashi , the art of Japanese hospitality. The way in which this has all been executed is quite impressive and difficult for me to describe, so you’ll just have to see for yourself! Room for improvement? You can stop your subscription with Sakuraco at any time without charge. The cancellation can be made from the Customers Portal.
