I am a huge fan of the books in this series and I knew that this one was due to be released before her death on 8th September 2022 so it is just good timing that it has been released now so shortly after her passing but I think it is a book that will be really of benefit. Little Elizabeth loved dogs and horses and dreamt of living on a farm. But, one day, she heard chants on the streets. Her uncle Edward had renounced the crown, which meant her father would be the next king, and she heiress to the throne. From that day on, she had to learn how to one day be the queen. Meanwhile, World War II is underway, and she trained as a driver and mechanic. After the war, when she was only twenty-one, the country celebrated her marriage to Prince Philip. The book tells us she saved her ration coupons for the fabric for her wedding dress. I thought that was a nice touch to her story. My son has really enjoyed reading this book about Queen Elizabeth especially after her death. He has found it very interesting and has enjoyed learning about her life. Of course there was much that was enjoyable, and I remember plenty of pictures of her smiling and laughing with genuine pleasure.

Revisit best-loved figures from the series and some new ones, too. My daughter is 5 and she did a song and dance at school for the Queen's Jubilee in June this year and has asked me a lot about the Queen lately following her funeral on 19th September which has also sadly coincided with the passing of her grandad so we have been able to use this book to talk about the positives too.

He though she was alwasy going to be Queen Elizabeth so was suprised to find out how she became Queen. By showing from a young age to her becoming of a princess and her father's death and then becoming Queen. I love these so much so it was so nice to see one honouring the Queen , covering her long life and service, with wonderful illustrations, this is a must read for any royal family fans The Little People Big Dreams books, created by author Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, are aimed at young children and tell the stories of influential people from all walks of life. This was a fascinating book that has so much history to learn and also terrific whimsical information that children are likely to love. The Queen loved animals, so someone sent her an Elephant named Jumbo. The illustrations are beautiful and fun and add to the special quality of this book. I definitely recommend this book for schools, libraries, and book stores.

This book gave a good overview of the Queens life. It ends at her Platinum Jubilee, so no need to be worried about any sad parts. The book also highlights changes she has brought in during her time as sovereign, including signing a law that gives girls the same rights as boys to inherit the throne. At just 26 years old, when her beloved father dies, Elizabeth becomes Queen of the UK on June 2, 1953. I learned previously she had volunteered for the British Army as a Driver and Mechanic. At 21, she married Prince Phillip and saved Ration Coupons for the fabric for her Wedding Dress, loved animals and had 30 Corgi Dogs in all. Each dog was made a meal from the Palace Kitchen! As a woman she was a outnumbered with few female influencers, when the world was dominated by men, in a man’s world. The life, we celebrated at her Platinum Jubilee was one of overcoming obstacles, inclusion of others and lifelong service. She could not have envisaged what the future would bring, but she was prepared and enabling so that many others fulfilled their own dreams through her advocacy, support and service. The story is really well done and it is a lovely little tribute, it doesn't cover the Queens passing in the book as it was written ahead of that happening. The illustrations are lovely and whilst they are not as like like as some in the series have been they are great to tell her story. Queen Elizabeth ll loved corgis dogs and horses and dreamed of living on a farm. Little did she expect that should be a reigning queen living in a grand palace all the rest of her life. In 1952, she was crowned Queen of the United Kingdom. Sadly she passed away on September 8, 2022 and the entire world mourned her death. Two of her corgis dogs and one of her horses attended her state funeral.

This charming addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series focuses on Queen Elizabeth II, and it was prepared for publication prior to her death. The book shares about her childhood, her experiences during World War II, and her long reign. The illustrations are both cute and appropriately detailed, giving a sense of historic fashions and technology. The illustrations deserve separate praise. There are plenty of corgis on them. Some pictures show altered familiar photographs - the Queen surrounded by her grandchildren and Mia Tindall holding her handbag. I can look at them over and over again. The book takes us through the key events of Queen Elizabeth’s life, from growing up alongside Princess Margaret and moving to the palace after the abdication of the queen. It shows how she was propelled into the role at such a young age after the death of her father and really highlights the sacrifices she has made. We learn all the essential facts about the Queen - from whose daughter and granddaughter she was, to her famous speech to children during World War II, her wedding, coronation and royal duties. In the end, there is a 'longer' text with a brief biography of the Queen. The quality of this summary for children is perfect. In my opinion, it's supported by the fact that many newspaper articles about the royal family don't mention more details. Royal Mail industrial action taking place in 2023 may have an impact on delivery times to all destinations both within the UK and internationally. These delays are out of our control. Instead of a quiet life in the country, she unexpectedly became the longest-reigning British monarch and served with remarkable poise and dignity.
