Ad a power soak to get the level always right and presto! I have a compact rig that I can create a post production sound LIVE!!! It needs to be a transparent, mids scooped booster like a Buffalo FX Powerbooster, TC Electronics Spark Booster or similar. Set the EQ on the pedal neutral, the volume slightly above unity and the gain as high as possible without the amp starting to break up. Music Tribe with respect to the Software shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Music Tribe. But my amp ( bought at the same time as the guitar ) is a Fender Champion 110 which is 75 watts and as I want to play at low volume it just doesn’t seem to work so well.

Don’t be afraid to give the amp a bit of break up. You probably don’t want full overdrive but a super clean amp often sound thin. Raise the gain until you start to notice a breakup. If your amp has two channels, you might want to experiment with the gain channel and get it as clean as possible. In many cases this is a better basis for your pedals that a purely clean channel. What we want is to compensate for the effect we get from driving the tubes hard on a bigger amp. Maybe the extra boost from the MXR Micro Amp is producing a slightly fatter, slightly more compressed tone. That could just be wishful thinking. MXR Micro Amp

I've just started rehearsing and gigging again and I've been enjoying using the Trapper, the B3K v2 and the Spark in various ways. I also nabbed a new to me Fender Rumble 210 combo so I've had a lot of gain options!! For Low gain I can emulate the Rumble's built in drive (which is really quite decent) with all three pedals but I prefer to use the Spark as an always on sound just pushing as eloquently described by Lozz and then I can switch to either the B3K or trapper for more drive - each providing their own colour and tones. The Trapper is great at the more vintage and amp like while the B3K take it up a notch if needed. nevertheless, your articles are always very helpful Bjorn, and I hope someday to be able to play on a real amp again :)

Would you say the RT20 be my best option? That thing looks like heaps of fun. I am looking for a rotary sim that sounds good even in mono. Don’t really have the inclination to have a stereo setup at the moment. agree to the updated terms, you may withdraw your acceptance to the amended terms by providing us with a EFFECTS LOOP: Lexicon MX200 multi effects processor (usually used for delay + chorus/flanger/phaser etc) > Rane PE15 Parametric EQ (used for heavier stuff typically, when I play through my 6505 MH). The region boundary to be edited is selected graphically below the waveform display, and to facilitate both music and dialogue editing, two types of crossfade are supported: Extend and Overlay. Extend mode would normally be used for music, so that when the crossfade length is changed, the edit point remains in the same place — the material for the fade is taken from outside the region. In Overlay mode the region lengths remain fixed, so the timing between the two regions changes as the fade length is changed. Unlike some editors, Spark's crossfades are not held in RAM, so they can be made as long as needed without fear of running out of memory. You can also step through from one transition to the next in the Cut Editor, which makes moving through the edit list both fast and intuitive. You can of course also use any VST plug‑ins you already own, and the only limit as to how many you can use at once is the horsepower of your computer. Even more amazingly, you can save a complete FXmachine setup and then use it anywhere you like as a single VST plug‑in, even inside the original FXmachine matrix. However, 'double nesting' is as far as you can go, and until computers get very much faster, you'll probably have to exercise restraint while doing even this. Looking to get those Pulse/Gdansk tones. Is there anything else that you think that I need that would help and would you be able to guide a complete noob and give me some idea of some amp and pedal settings for a good Comfortably Numb sound to start with and then fiddle around from there.
