Whilst MIO’s main marketing angle throughout the entire range appears to be focussed on NAVIGATION, their devices do become much more feature-rich and performance-suited as you go up the range. Having to keep getting the laptop out and connect the Mio by cable is a bit of a faff. Uploading the rides to Mioshare is easy enough, though, and you can connect your account to Strava so it takes your rides across. Value and competitionSo what doesn’t the Mio Cyclo 210 do? There’s no ANT+ connection so you can’t connect it to a heart rate monitor, nor is there Bluetooth. That means if you want to transfer routes to or from the 210 (or pair it with Strava), you have to connect it to your computer using a lead and transfer them via the MioShare app — an annoyingly fiddly process. Should I buy one? Run time has been affected by very cold weather - -4C (including wind-chill) to 3C during the testing period. You’d expect so with any device. Even so, I’ve got a decent eight and three-quarter hours. Warmer weather has seen things closer to the ten. At present, we can’t really comment on long-term deterioration, though, in common with all rechargeable devices, that is inevitable. It would seem a more sensible strategy to me that MIO followed a similar model to WAHOO and just didn’t bother with MIOSHARE at all. Instead they could rely on one of those trendy modern things called ‘an app’ which then linked to RIDEWITHGPS for route creation and to STRAVA for routes, analysis and social stuff. They could then focus on innovating more around their hardware. MIO Cyclo 210 Review – Navigating If you go off course there is a slightly longer delay than I would like for the Mio to alert you and re-plan. But it’s fine. Where data needs to be transferred outside the UK, Mitac will ensure that all such transfers are in compliance with the terms of the Data Protection Laws and the relevant EU regulations. Where transfers are to be made outside of the European Economic Area, MiTAC will ensure that the designation country(ies) has data protection laws assessed as adequate by the European Commission or where adequate safeguards are in place.Mio does produce additional sensors, including for measuring heart rate and cadence. They just won’t work with this specific model as it’s neither Ant+ nor Bluetooth compatible. This might not matter to some, but it’ll be unconscionable to others. The Cyclo 210 claims to be waterproof and, while we wouldn't like to submerge it entirely underwater, our experience suggests it copes fine with rain and splashes when riding off road. It's a very robust unit and ought to cope with being dropped without showing any significant damage.

The one criticism I would have is that starting a route/course is mildly confusing. There could be slight delays as the 210 is off thinking about something or it could just be that I’m not pressing the touchscreen in quite the right place. Having said that there are some nice touches where you can choose to ride a pre-loaded route in either direction. MIO Cyclo 210 Review – GPS Accuracy de geschiedenis is vol toch kan ik er niet meer in voor te wissen. wat kan ik nog doen ; ik heb ook al gerecet. Even allowing it to include main roads, it will often generate routes twice the length you’d expect. On the plus side, it often sniffs out traffic free cut-throughs only the most in-depth of local knowledge would otherwise provide. Like the Mio Cyclo 505 HC which we reviewed a couple of years ago, the Mio Cyclo 210 has a Surprise Me route creation function. This seems to have got smarter though. When we tried it previously on the 505, its suggestions included a trip along the A4 through the centre of Slough; this time it kept almost exclusively to quiet roads.

There’s also an SD slot, so you can add other bits of the world later. Pop in the postcode and it’ll work out a route within seconds, faster than on other devices I’ve used.
