Description

Bosch PSB 1800 is comparably a lightweight drill, weighing around 1.3kg. Thus it is convenient to use even in a small space. The multiple torque settings enable you to control the turning power of the drill driver. One of its unique features is that it works as both an electric drill and a screwdriver. As a user, you don’t want to have to use two different tools when doing a single task. A combination of the two puts both’s power in your hands making it easier, lighter and faster to manoeuvre around the working area. Also, you get to save on costs with the combination since the tool comes at a reasonable pricing point. The box also contains double screwdriver bits with a plastic case. The double screwdriver bits can be used in both screwing and unscrewing operation. It’s great that Bosch have included a charge level indicator on the base of this drill. It takes the guesswork out of knowing how much juice is left. It’s something that Ryobi could take on board. Right in front of the indicator is the LED work light. It’s reasonably powerful but turns off as soon as you let go of the trigger. You can, just about, run the light without turning the drill on as well, which is nice.

The nicely designed hammer drill is featured with 20 pre-selectable torque. It creates a great impact on drill settings. The overall feeling I got from this cordless drill is that it’s all a bit underwhelming. The design is unremarkable, and the grip isn’t the best. There are a couple of little features like the direction indicator that look good but don’t add to the performance. The drill isn’t very responsive, and the uninspiring drilling speed makes for slow work. The Bosch PSB 1800 comes with 2x 1.5Ah Lithium-ION batteries and a charger capable of recharging them within an hour. You would be hard pushed to be completing a task that didn’t allow for you to work continuously rotating the batteries as they need charging with this Bosch Combi Drill.

The PSB 1800 LI-2 lithium-ion two-speed combi from Bosch is suitable for drilling in wood (3 cm diameter), metal (1 cm diameter) and masonry (1 cm diameter) and can also be used as a screwdriver on these materials. It is conveniently cordless and always ready to use thanks to the lithium-ion technology and a 60 minute battery life. As the appliance is compact and weighs a light 1.3 kg, it is comfortable to use and won't cause your arm to ache after a few minutes. The softgrip also plays a part in making sure the drill is convenient to use. One of the benefits of this drill is its integrated LED light. The light provides the optimum illumination while working even in dark areas. There’s plenty of control when it comes to torque settings on this cordless drill. Bosch have called it ScrewControl, but it’s the same principle. You get 20 different settings that control how much power you can put into a screw, to help save the surface of delicate materials you’re working on. As always with Bosch the warranty that comes with the product is 2 years which once activated online becomes 3 years, this really does finish the product off nicely. Bosch PSB 1800 Accessory SetBosch PSB 1800 is lightweight thus making the task easier than ever. The battery-powered drill machine holds a lithium-ion battery with fast charging capability. This drill still proves to be one of Bosch’s best entry level combi drills, but Bosch has also released the Universal Impact Driver, which on first glance sounds like an impact driver. In fact it is more of a hammer drill but with impact driver features on the side. If you are after a dedicated impact driver there are certainly better offerings, but this might set to be a likely replacement for the Bosch PSB 1800 a few years down the road. This drill is lightweight, easy to use, efficient and powerful for DIY projects around the house as well as small applications like mounting your TV or a portrait on the wall. It also has more torque to offer than its alternatives. We would recommend it over the res. However, if you want something that can handle heavy-duty applications like concrete, then the Bosch Cordless Hammer Drill ideal too. The cordless feature of this PSB 1800 drill provides the most benefits among the other features. The lithium-ion battery only takes 1 hour to make a full charge.
