I’m looking at JOANN’s and am really liking how easy XS2080 looks, but I can’t find any reviews on it! This by no means takes the place of a serger, but it works great for trimming and seaming cotton fabric. Then, pull the thread end out, and pass it under and clockwise around the pre-tension disk on the left of the machine body. On its default settings, these stitches are the right tension, creating little to no bunching on the many fabrics we tested. I love my computerized sewing machine because the user interface and LCD screen are more beginner-friendly, as is troubleshooting.

Brother CS7000X | 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with

Stitch length and width are adjusted easily with buttons, allowing for more precision and options than a mechanical sewing machine. The XM2701 has been around for a long time and is very well-loved so it’s going to be easier to find product-specific tutorials for. The buttonhole process is simple to set up as it has the typical Brother colored lines on the presser foot, making it easy to line everything up. Overall, both machines offer a good selection of accessories, but the CS7000X provides some extra features that make it a great choice for quilters. The Brother CS7000X has a metal frame and is very sturdy and durable, not to mention that it has excellent and consistent stitch quality.Additionally, the machine allows you to customize your stitches with adjustable length and width, which gives you even more creative control. Surprisingly, when taking a casual look at both models of the Brother computerized sewing machine, they appear to look very similar without any line of distinction. If you do plan to do extensive thick denim or faux leather sewing, I would also recommend considering a heavy-duty sewing machine. You can wrap small tubular items like jeans legs and shirt sleeves around this to help you prevent stitching them together. I was trying to understand the differences between these three as they are all on my short list of machines I am considering.

Brother CS7000X vs Brother XR9550PRW Sewing Machine (2017) Brother CS7000X vs Brother XR9550PRW Sewing Machine (2017)

The Brother CS7000X can handle thicker fabrics up to 6mm in thickness with ease and will get the job done for someone who’s just starting out or has limited knowledge of how machines work! However, while both machines are fast, the CS7000X edges out the XR9550 in terms of precision and consistency. While the idea of an automatic needle threader is appealing, the reliability and ease of use of this device are lacking, in my opinion. Just like anyone with the option to choose, my choice is based on the additional 30 inbuilt stitching designs and the 8 auto-size stitching holes present in the Brother CP100X sewing machine. This means, to release the fabric, you’ll have to turn the handwheel on the right of the machine towards you to put the needle in the up position.

While this isn’t the most incredible warranty, it is comparable to other sewing machine manufacturers. When it comes to sewing speed, both the Brother XR9550 and the CS7000X are impressive machines, with the ability to stitch at a speed of up to 850 stitches per minute. The free arm feature however helps you get that perfect stitch on cuffs, collars, and sleeves that can usually be pretty tricky to sew. They offer built-in fonts and trace letters onto your project much easier than with other machines – perfect if this is something that will be new to your skillset! The nifty thing about the Brother CS7000X is if all these feet have you scratching your head or quaking in intimidation, Brother understands and has programmed the CS7000X with helpful hints. From looking at pictures of it, though, it looks like it has the older version of the auto-needle threader. I own a Singer 4452 heavy-duty sewing machine also (learn more in my Singer 4452 review), and it blows this Brother CS7000X out of the water!
