Description

It comes with a wall mount and is easy to install. The unit is wireless and battery powered, requiring 4 x AA batteries that don’t come included. You can usually adjust the sensitiveness to avoid bad weather or animals setting the alarm off unnecessarily. But that may take some trial and error. And you obviously don't want to make it too insensitive, as that could result in an undetected break in!

These are great because they're modular, so you can buy the essentials and then add different sensors, extra sirens, remote controls etc as and when you need them. What sort of alert is best for your shed alarm? Specification: Loud Siren: 105 dB, Battery Type: ‎Alkaline 4 x AA batteries, Remote control range: 110° scanning area (8 m) Unfortunately the Tiiwee Kit doesn't offer "pet friendly" PIR sensors yet. In fact the Yale system was the only one I could fund that has them as an option...Motion detectors and PIRs are great in that they can cover a big area, including multiple doors and windows, but it’s often hard to get the sensitivity right. If they’re too sensitive, they will activate when something passes by the shed window. If they’re not sensitive enough, they will only detect intruders when they’re nearly close enough to pull the alarm off the wall. The best motion detector systems get the balance right, and will even include ‘pet-safe’ technology so that a dog or cat won’t trigger the alarm, should one get into your shed or garage. If you’re concerned about alarms being too easy for intruders to reach, this Tech Traders Wireless Motion Sensor Alarm can be positioned higher out of the way. This is because there are remote controls provided, so you don’t need to physically access the alarm to disarm it.

There’s nothing flashy about Yale’s entry-level shed and garage alarm, but it’s easy to fit and thoroughly effective. Fit it to the wall or place it on a shelf and it will activate when detecting movement from anywhere within 12m. Once that happens you’ve got 10 seconds to enter the four-digit pin code, or face 100dB worth of earache. Unfortunately the "pet friendly" sensors don't come as part of a kit. So you'll need to either buy a starter kit and then add the pet sensors. Or buy the siren, sensors and remote control separately. This unit works off a 4 x AA batteries, so there no wires. You can also use a 6 Volt DC power adapter if you own one of those. As one of the loudest shed alarms featured here, this Defender PIR Alarm with Fob will produce a 130 dB sound if the PIR sensor detects movement, and is disarmed by pressing a button on the remote control. Motion detection - Alarm will sound 10 seconds after motion is detected if pin code is not entered.... The main alarm system is battery powered, running off 4 x AA batteries, which are not included, and the small remotes use cell batteries, which are included. Anecdotally, I have also heard stories of bike thieves fleeing when a garage or shed alarm has been triggered. Some shed alarms are, I suppose, what you would think of as a more traditional alarm, and will make a loud noise to let you know that there’s a problem. Although these can be annoying for you and neighbours if you get a faulty one that triggers over nothing all the time, the noise can help to startle burglars and make them flee before they grab anything valuable.

Specification: Loud Siren: 115dB, Battery Type: ‎Alkaline 2 12V batteries, Remote control range: 250ft,

If you’ve been put off by other alarms that provide a warning ‘pip’ before they start sounding, this Minder MA30 Mini PIR Alarm doesn’t give intruders the same luxury. This motion sensor alarm launches into a loud 130 dB siren without any heads up, increasing the element of surprise. PIR alarms are probably the most popular type of shed and garage alarm available. But they vary hugely in price. And this is largely based on their intelligence (and therefore reliability)... Specification: Loud Siren: 105dB, Battery Type: ‎Alkaline 4 x AA batteries, Remote control range: 110° scanning area To activate, or ‘arm’, these alarms, you often simply press a number on the keypad. You then have time to exit before the alarm arms itself. To deactivate these alarms, you need to enter the code within a set period of time (otherwise the alarm will start sounding).
