Description

Adam was Juliette's only companion in grade school before she was abruptly thrown in the asylum. After some time they're reunited under strained circumstances. He, an undercover agent for the Reestablishment, her, his assignment. She immediately recognizes him, and while he knows full well who she is and she makes him feel can't let her or his superiors know of these feelings. After some time they escape and learn more about each other and themselves than they were prepared for. Causing a strain on their relationship that took them by surprise. She closes the distance between us and twines her arms around me, freeing me from my momentary paralysis. My heart beats faster with her here, so close. And though I don’t know how she knew that I suddenly required the reassurance of her touch, I’m grateful. I exhale, pulling her fully against me, our bodies relaxing, remembering each other. I found myself drowning in her words and not wanting to come up for air. I wanted the waves of her writing to crash over me and pull me further and further out. I'm pretty sure I held my breath the whole time I was reading this series (which might I add I finished in less than two days).

A: The Shatter Me series is primarily marketed as young adult fiction and is suitable for readers aged 14 and above. However, due to its mature themes and occasional violence, parental discretion is advised. Q: Will there be more books in the Shatter Me series? As the stakes rise and the world hangs in the balance, Juliette must confront her own inner demons and make difficult choices that will shape the future of her world. Mafi’s mesmerizing prose captures the raw emotions, sacrifice, and resilience of the characters, as they navigate the treacherous path towards freedom. But the worst thing of all is the fact that abuse is lauded as romantic in these novels. Warner may hurt Juliette and be forgiven for it time and time again all because, beneath his terrible acts, his motives are supposedly based in the fact that he loves her. Nevermind that time and time again his love is portrayed as selfish and only insofar as she benefits him.

Shatter Me was Mafi’s debut novel and was published when she was only 23 years old. The original trilogy went on to be translated into more than 30 languages and sell more than a million copies. Another big secret is revealed, and through a unique power further detailed in the book, Adam is resistant to Juliette’s touch of death. From this love for one another, Adam is convinced to rescue Juliette and together they escape the asylum. However, not before Juliette shoots Aaron to escape and it is revealed he is also resistant to Juliette’s touch. By the end of the book, Adam, Adam’s brother James, his friend Kenji and Juliette join a rebellion group against The Reestablishment. Engaging in discussions and sharing theories can enhance your reading experience and offer new perspectives. Werkelijk prachtig. Both of these issues make it clear that nobody bothered hiring sensitivity readers for both trans and Argentinean representation, and that’s something that espec And there you have it! The Shatter Me series in all its fascinating complexity. A work of art that is equal parts thrilling, thought-provoking and emotional. It's clear to see why this series has captivated the hearts of many and secured its place in the realm of unforgettable YA fiction. The short answer is Yes! You can skip the novellas. They aren’t necessary at all to understand the main story. The story is about 17 year old Juliette Ferrars who has a lethal touch. Anything living she touches dies.

I’m sorry—what?” I take my hand off my gun; feel my body unclench. “Kenji, what are you talking about? This isn’t about the war?” NAZEERA COULD CHOKE ME WITH HER BARE HANDS AND I WOULD THANK HER FOR IT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO BLESSED BY A FEMALE FRIENDSHIP. HER CHALLENGING KENJI ABOUT COVERING HER HAIR. HER FLIPPING HIM OFF. HER POWERS. HER KINDNESS AND COMPANIONSHIP. I'M UTTERLY DECEASED Warner's obsession with Juliette is terrifying. And I haven't even truly scratched the surface yet. AARON WARNER. holy hell, his character development is amazing. I cannot believe how much i feel so hard for his gentle touch towards Juliette and kind words. I’m obsessed with their relationship. The build i thought was great. Their trust in each other, prefect. Their love, beautiful.Troubled, and rightfully so, youth are drawn together by unseen forces finding relationships of all kinds through each other. Father figures and little brothers tugging at heart strings you didn't know you had. The war between truth and reality you will have with yourself will be taxing. Honestly enjoyed this. I did think Adam went through some unnecessary butchering to get the relationships in place, but I'm quite pleased where it ended up (because I'm a fangirl at heart). Speaking of relationships, I thought it was a tad dramatic, but then you had Kenji and his comments poking fun at the drama. That was a nice touch - it showed self-awareness, and ensured that I never felt that this book took itself too seriously. There aren’t as many trees as there were before, is what the scientists say. They say our world used to be green. Our clouds used to be white. Our sun was always the right kind of light. But I have very faint memories of that world. I don’t remember much from before. The only existence I know now is the one I was given. An echo of what used to be. Besides the fact that the author stretched the story a bit too far, the title speaks for itself: this is not a sugar-coated series and is rather tragic. But the lessons to take from it stand powerful.
