This figure finally pulls it all together and gives me exactly what I wanted; a neutral Sandman with swappable effects pieces that allow you to portray his power set. I love that they made Hydro Man, but if I could have anything different on that figure its for his powers to be portrayed with optional effect pieces.

The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 2, collecting The Sandman #21–39. The Sandman Deluxe Edition Book Four, collecting The Sandman #51–69 and Vertigo Jam #1. Published November 2021. A voracious reader of fantasy and a devotee of gothic horror, Gaiman offered Berger a very big swing. Instead of another Sandman adventure story, he’d write a six-issue yarn about a sentient personification of the human imagination escaping from captivity and solving a mystery. Each issue would have the arc of a gothic horror story, and over the course of the six, his character would make a travel tour of the DC Universe, from the headquarters of the Justice League to the depths of hell itself. Parker, Sabadino (2007). Dream's Odyssey: A Jungian Analysis of Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman' . Hartford, CT: Trinity College. The Sandman: Book Five, collecting Sandman Midnight Theatre #1, The Sandman: The Dream Hunters (prose edition), and The Sandman: Endless Nights. Published February 2023. [79]

And in that story, Hector Hall — son of Hawkman and Hawkwoman — became trapped in the Dream Stream and took over the duties of the Sandman. Eventually, he brought his wife, Hippolyta “Lyta” Hall — the daughter of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor — into dreams as well, where the two conceived a child.
