Nick Sharratt has created illustrations for over two hundred and fifty books during his illustrious career. A brilliantly evocative portrait of modern life featuring an engaging heroine, Floos, from the mega bestselling Jacqueline Wilson.

I know her audience is supposed to younger but I'm still loving these books and I can't wait to read the rest I have on mount tbr. She loves her Dad and enjoys spending time helping out in the Cafe, but if she didn’t go she wouldn’t she her Mum until six months after they leave! The book opens on Floss's birthday where Sally and Steve tell her that they are going to Australia for six months because of Steve's job. I also felt sorry for her dad as everything seemed to have gone wrong for him, though seemed to be picking up towards the end.

Floss likes to be Rhiannon's best friend, because of her popularity and she feels special because many people want to be Rhiannon's friend (including Margot), but she only hopes that Rhiannon wouldn't tease people. When the fair comes back in town, Rose and Charlie consider dating, and Floss finds out both are interested in each other and get along well, while Rose lets Floss help her in the candyfloss stall. Kekeraskepalaan bocah ini sulit dimengerti oleh orang-orang di sekitarnya, dan momen paling 'menghancurkan' adalah ketika si ibu dan Floss bertengkar sambil menangis. I'm wondering if Flora had a crush on all of her friends (Rhiannon - I would too, Susan - I would too, and Ella - ofc I would too) or maybe the news of Jacqueline's coming out made me see things and project my own experiences.

My sister has a UK published one, so I know it is supposed to be Mum, and it just bothered me so much every time I saw it!

But disaster strikes - Dad's money troubles catch up with him and they have to move out of the cafe. She then faces a impossible dilemma to go to Australia with her Mum or stay in the UK with her real life Dad. She can't go without her father and will miss him, so she decides that she won't go and will stay with her father instead. As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children’s Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children’s Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame. Floss also has a best friend, Rhiannon, who isn't much of a friend - making fun of her and her father and starting cruel rumours about her.

I found myself being really angry with Floss's mum, no kid should be forced to chose and unless there is a good reason for it, kids should always have access to both parents. Jacqueline's books include The Story of Tracy Beaker, which has become a hugely successful BBC TV series; Girls in Love, which together with its two sequels was filmed for ITV television; and Double Act, which she adapted for Channel 4 and which won the Royal TV Society's Best Children's Fiction Award.
