This composition adds depth and sophistication to the scent, evoking a feeling of effortless elegance. There was no watermelon in it also I can't judge if there is a black currant in here cause I haven't smell one before. Insense Ultramarine is a focus group approved and confused back peddling exercise trying to desparately keep with the times with no regard for its almighty and glorious beginnings. Insense Ultramarine for men, a 1995 premiere, exemplifies the luxurious cachet of the famous French design house.

I consider this one of the best I own, and naturally it will be worn more than others in my collection. It does have some distinct elements to it (namely, long lasting staying power) that sets it apart from other “blue” watery scents. Although they are not listed anywhere I could find, I swear that I could detect a strong scent of both coconut and eucalyptus in this.Note as well that there are two reformulations of the original Insense and they're both weaker versions (and likely tweaked for the worse) from the original. So here it is - a comfortable, yet very familiar deja-vu that the masses accepted and bought - simply on the basis of it being accessible, safe. A bit synthetic, and more than a little saccharine, yes, but all within the bounds of the prevailing zeitgeist at the time of Ultramarine's release. I don't smell any fruit here, was overall surprised to see the notes, would've expected something aquatic. They all seem to smell so flat and artificial, like you work cleaning up chemical spills in a perfume factory, as opposed to actually wearing something you wanted to smell.

The scent notes are black currant and galbanum with bergamot and watermelon followed by magnolia and carnation with iris and mint. NICE scent except it smelled exactly like a MOISTENED WIPE FROM 'WETONES" which we have here in Australia and I mean exactly. Do not fall for the silly idea that smelling nice is all there is to the allure of a good fragrance. Very slowly it transforms, I have had it on for about 6 hours now and it has arrived at the gorgeous cedar/aquatic base. This is a big, bawdy, blue-dyed French perfume, disguised as a masculine, and that's reason enough for me to like it.
