The only downside is that coffee doesn’t always come out as hot as we like. It’s usually just about fine when making an espresso, but more of an issue when you add milk. Other Coffee Taste Be prepared to replace the filter regularly if you make a lot of coffee though. The machine prompts you to descale and replace the filter every 100 cups. Other Features

However, if you’re just looking for a small home espresso maker for yourself then this De’Longhi ECAM23.460 is a great option. It can make all of your favourite cafe drinks and you’ll never have to worry about spending another penny at that overpriced cafe again! Again, if we have one complaint, it’s that coffees with lots of milk tend to come out lukewarm rather than hot. This is understandable, but if you like piping hot coffee you might need to put milky drinks in the microwave for a few seconds. As is always the case with home bean-to-cup machines, we would have liked a bigger water tank. This isn’t a major issue, as it’s easy to refill, but makes the Delonghi slightly less convenient. Instead, there’s a ‘short coffee’, ‘medium coffee’, ‘long coffee’ and ‘extra long coffee’. With a bit of thinking outside the box, you’ll get the idea that a ‘short coffee’ is roughly equivalent to espresso, but this only works in reality when you increase the amount of ground coffee you’re using. A DeLonghi ECAM 23.460 kávéfőző elegáns és modern kialakítással rendelkezik, amely könnyen illeszkedik a konyha bármely stílusához. A tartós anyagokból készült, így hosszú távon is megbízható és ellenálló.

Also implemented here without any problems are DeLonghi’s compact dimensions, which we’re used to having. The brand manages to create a unique selling point through the inclusion of an automatic milk frothing system, a cup preheater and the 2-cup function, none of which are a given when reviewing a machine in this price category.De’Longhi is well known for making some of the highest quality home espresso makers on the market, and although this machine may appear small and simple from the outside, it can make a great cup of coffee any day of the week. At the end of the day, the De’Longhi ECAM23.460 is a nice entry level unit. If you’re serious about coffee, however, you’ll eventually want one of De’Longhi’s larger, fancier models with all of the extra bells and whistles. I also find stronger devices at both ends of the brand spectrum. With no display and a manual milk foam system, the entry-level DeLonghi ECAM 22.110 has been the price-performance category test winner for years. It helps that the buttons are also clearly named.

When it comes to the grinder, DeLonghi delivers its usual high-quality performance with the ECAM 23.460. Not only is the inclusion of 13 grind settings always exceptional at this price point, but the stainless steel conical burr grinder is also supremely adjustable. That doesn’t mean it’s not as obvious as it might seem: you have to press the button for a very long time for it to do its job. When it comes to naming the drinks and buttons, on other hand, things get really adventurous because there’s no espresso on the menu here. As far as stainless steel grinders go, the ECAM 23.460’s version is neither particularly loud nor particularly quiet. The sound is just boringly normal — thought that’s certainly always a plus. For my fully automatic espresso machine review, I only had to turn the dial briefly and without force to achieve the finest grind. Espresso and Milk Foam — No Complaints Here After all, once a customer buys a new fully automatic espresso machine, they probably won’t rush out again next week for the latest one. Although the herbal nuances of these beans are very difficult to extract cleanly in a compromised device like a fully automatic machine, it certainly worked here. Plus, with a drinking temperature of around 70 degrees Celsius (158 degrees Fahrenheit), the espresso from the ECAM 23.460 was also pleasantly hot.The 23.460 is a mid-range bean-to-cup coffee machine. It’s not the most expensive, but it costs more than many alternatives. There are two automatic cleaning programs: rinsing and descaling. Rinsing just pours water through the machine to clear out any let over debris, while the de-calcification program prevents limescale build-up. There’s also the option of preparing a latte macchiato, cappuccino or cafe latte with a single button press. This dispenses both the coffee and milk automatically, according to the settings you provide, and the results are brilliant. If you’re looking for a machine that can make both espresso and milky coffees with that “coffee shop” taste, the ECAM23.460 is a great option and well-worth the money.

If you’ve already read our review of the De’Longhi Eletta, then you’ll find that this product is very similar. It’s essentially the little brother of the larger, more powerful Eletta. It has most of the same functionality, but it’s a little bit smaller and is meant more for personal use than it is for family use. As with all bean-to-cup coffee machines, the conical grinder has several settings for coarseness (13 to be exact.) You can adjust this setting using a dial within the grinder.Somehow, I just can’t shake the impression that the product design was a bit of a rush job, though. Still, that’s only due to details like a completely stupid button assignment — the quirkiest ever to appear in a super-automatic espresso machine review. Adding frothed milk to a long coffee is simply a matter of pressing the “Cappuccino” button once to start, and another to stop. You get a nice frothy texture to the drink, and you can add as much as you want. DeLonghi can also pin another badge on itself for the quality of the espresso and milk foam. Again, I would have been surprised if that hadn’t been the case. The new ECAM series cuts a particularly fine figure in cup results at all price levels. I also have nothing to complain about with the DeLonghi ECAM 23.460. The factory-set intervals for descaling and basic cleaning are already fairly well-integrated, so you only have to adjust them if you have particularly hard water.
