Description

Another exciting use of home automation is temperature control. You can set up temperature sensors to monitor different rooms of your home and use the Le Potato running the home automation platform to control a smart thermostat to adjust the temperature based on your preferences. This can potentially result in energy savings and a more comfortable home environment. Software designed around specific Raspberry Pi® hardware such as MIPI cameras, DPI displays, DSI panels are not supported.

The default Debian gpioget and gpioset definitely works. You probably modified something on the image and removed a library or something. I’m trying to install Balena Cloud OS on my LePotato. I don’t have a rasberry pi, and I’m using Windows. LibreELEC is an OS that is intended to run Kodi as efficiently as possible, with their tagline being “Just enough OS to run Kodi.” If you are looking for a media center with a lightweight install of Kodi this or CoreELEC are your go-to choices. Libre Computer, the maker of the Le Potato, recommends CoreELEC over LibreELEC for Amlogic (AML) boards, such as the Le Potato. You can use the tool on any of these versions and it will enable it to boot on the Libre Computers boards.AML-S905X-CC Le Potato has 5 available hardware PWM multiplex over 6 pins. The hardware PWMs are grouped in chip pairs accessible via pwm0 and pwm1. Actually, I rebooted after using ldto merge (so that I do not need to use ldto activate, I don’t think I changed anything else). Now I can successfully use all four PWM lines. I started from the Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop image. Booting the SD card with the Pi will still be retained (in other words it won’t take away your ability to boot that image on the Pi if you run the Libre utility). Notable Caveats The utility does still load and depending on what you’re trying to do, it will still work with your Libre Computer board. If you’re looking to modify options that related to GPIO headers then you’re going to need to look into their wiring tool to translate these.

RetroPie Released for Le Potato and Coming Soon to Tritium! RetroPie Released for Le Potato and Coming Soon to Tritium!

It’s absolutely theoretically possible to do this manually. Look at the source code for the script for Libre’s tool here:If you are moving from a Raspberry Pi to a “Le Potato” see my Raspbian Portability Tool for Libre Boards Guide Additionally, there are a few recommended parts that, while not need, will assist with dissipating heat to improve performance. The last part is a dongle to use WiFi rather than an Ethernet connection: Schematics and 2D silkscreen are available for all hardware. Design files are based on non-disclosure materials from SoC vendors. [21] CAD files are not available. [22] See also [ edit ] What people call “support” for the Pi didn’t just happen. Raspberry Pi isn’t responsible for the level of support there is out there for the Pi. Do they have a phone # you can call for support? Of course not. All they have is forums/documentation and all of the board producers have forums/documentation. We had to do it and produce the content knowing that there was a need for a product like this out there and they (they being the PC/electronics industry and much of the media surrounding it) were laughing in our faces the whole time at us playing with that little toy credit card computer.

Libre Computers “Le Potato” SBC Review - James A. Chambers

Once you’ve installed the retro gaming software, configured it, and added ROMs to each console’s library, you’re ready to enjoy retro gaming on your Le Potato! The Le Potato’s powerful processing capabilities will ensure smooth gameplay as you tap into that nostalgic feeling of playing classic retro games.

Using an SBC to control your 3D printer will give you so many more features and quality of life improvements for your printer. I chose to use the Libre Computers provided Ubuntu 22.10 image for my desktop testing and I was pleasantly surprised. You’re going to get a rather vanilla Ubuntu image rather than something that’s been thrown together with apt mirrors in faraway lands and localisations that need changing later.
