Like the heroine's twin-brother, who really expected her life to revolve around HIS high-school football career and not her happiness.

I cant wait for his book because I hope the tension gets resolved and he eventually learns to get along with Wes. Maeve is a star football player for her high school and Wes is a quarterback playing for a rival school. And aside from the romance, I also appreciated how it also centered around their own personal lives at home and at school. When it did happen, even though they weren't on speaking terms they still showed up for each other when it came to their games (he plays american football and she plays soccer aka real football lol). I will say I got a little frustrated towards the end as I felt like Meave did the sucking up and would of been nice for Wes to be told about Matt by Liam and for Wes to show a little more remorse regarding his kiss with another girl. The book could have been amazing without all the breakup drama if they had communicated, but I love their relationship .

There was some confusion over the description - it was a box set of 8 x 7" singles, but the description also said "No of disks: 1". I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although I would've liked to see more of the couple's established relationship after all was set and done. I was a little disappointed there wasn't as much spice as we usually get from CW Farnsworth but then I reminded myself that this is set in High school and therefore I completely understood it! You know that episode of Friends where Joey is writing a reference letter for Chandler and Monica's adoption and Ross teaches him to use a thesaurus to sound smarter? This author imbues her teenage characters with a level of maturity I'm not sure is realistic (I've read some books where 30 year olds are less emotionally well balanced) yet that made it more enjoyable for me. I was disappointed with the lack of depth in the characters and even more so with the male narrator. I think there’s so much that goes off this by knowing they could be ruined with the information they told, but knowing the other wouldn’t.

Maeve and Wes are from different towns in the same lake, where the sports rivalry between the high schools is intense. Sometimes with books where the main guy character is a popular and well-liked jock, the girl is shy and nerdy or whatever.I especially liked that before any attraction was there, they both felt like they could talk to each other about their messed up home situations. It felt like maybe the author wrote it quickly and didn’t want to put thought into scenes outside of the two love birds.

When our paths cross again senior year, that knowledge becomes even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk. Because I had an inkling Weston Cole had the potential to implode my cautious, predictable world from that moment in the woods, long before I had any real reason to suspect he might. I didn’t love the miscommunication/ third act break up, but then I had to remind myself that the MCs are in high school and what happened can be quite realistic. Because, once their differences were settled, it mattered very little in the end, because when they do finally interact, it's apparent to everyone involved that there really is nothing that sets them apart from each other.Farnsworth is the author of numerous adult and young adult romance novels featuring sports, strong female leads, and happy endings. I mean, just read the synopsis for this (which I will admit I did not before I started reading it) and you'll get a small taste of it.
