Since I always opt for the Race Edition, I cannot speak to the longevity of the standard option, but I can squeeze a season of riding out of the race versions. If I am riding allot of bike park, they wear out faster, but the price vs use balance is great in my opinion. I generally am going through two pair a year sometimes.

The Reflex grip is made in two sizes: the regular model with a 33.5mm diameter, which I’ve tested here and a larger 34.5mm XL version. There’s a range of colour choices, but no super-soft compound option or flanged model. Install: Don't panic, it's easy. I used a torque wrench because I have carbon bars and I'm anal about that kind of stuff but I'm sure you can get by without one and be free of worry. They suggest 2nms of torque which I'm not super sure about that... more about that later. The dual tread design is reminiscent of the DMR Deathgrip and works similarly well. The raised hard-ish end of the grip is a bit uncomfortable for riders who hang off the ends of their handlebars, however. After using my initial pair in the super wet Pisgah 111k last year I have added these to my other bikes as well. They are all-day comfortable and still provide grip to torque the handlebar. The inner mushroom section does a great job of floating the section of grip you pinch with your thumb and the firmer lateral half of the grip doesn't wallow or squish under pressure. Grip in the wet both with without gloves remains excellent. I have added these to my lightweight single speed as well, where the combination of grip and comfort is welcome. With the soft compound they do wear faster than some of the other options out there, but the price is very reasonable. Get the full skinny below on how Brendan Fairclough’s and Clay Porter’s epic Deathgrip movie was planned and executed. It really is an impressive piece of work. Over two years in the making DEATHGRIP can now be experienced through the world’s leading movie and TV streaming service, Netflix. The grip has a slight ergonomic shape reminiscent of the Ergon GE1, but I’ve fitted it both ways and not noticed any difference. Unlike the company’s Half Nelson and Love Handle grips, the Getta Grip also has a closed end, so you’re not going to plug bar with dirt in a crash, and it also conforms to most race rules.

Many of these grips have closed ends, which is important to note if you like to store things in your handlebar.Reliability/Durability: I've been on them for a few months and they still look near new. The left grip gets a bit loose after 4 or 5 rides when I torque it to spec so I over torqued it slightly and it's been solid since. There’s very little cushioning and we’ve noticed a lot more harshness on rough trails compared to the Burgtec Bartender grip that was on my bike previously.
