I really like the bright 25mm marking on the lens, making it quite easy to identify, especially in the dark.

Because Micro Four Thirds cameras normally focus with the aperture set wide open, this can result in the edge being taken off the sharpness when you’re shooting at f/2. aperture, and I did not find the need to stop down to achieve better sharpness, unless I wanted more depth of field. The new lens system comprising of 8 elements in 7 groups uses an Ultra-High Refractive Index (UHR) lens and two aspherical lenses. The lens only weighs 150g, so it is quite light, and can match well with smaller Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. As I said repeatedly, this different iso is actually equal IQ (not number), but that's not what you are saying because I repeatedly said this and you are "correcting" me.

is an epic lens and going through my catalogue of images it was notable that a great deal of my most loved images were from that lens. would obviously be more useful, but in my experience, it doesn't hold up well for night photography, especially long exposures.

This week, the World Photography Organization announced the shortlist for Student and Youth Photographer of The Year, part of the broader Sony World Photography Awards of 2024. The FF photo will look darker at default settings, but when you lift it two stops in post it will be identical to the m43 photo, including noise levels and DOF. I have no idea why I would want to lose control over the aperture or shutter speed, both are important to the image. When shooting subjects that are far away, say half a meter or further from the camera, the lens performs incredibly well with no issue in acquiring focus quickly and nailing sharp results. Macro is a full-frame L-mount lens that's designed to be a medium telephoto, portrait and macro lens all-in-one.

The only real drawback is the susceptibility to flare, which is very evident in shots taken into the light. It also includes one ultra-high refractive index glass element and two aspherical elements, which are designed to minimise chromatic aberration and peripheral aberrations. Reproduction in whole or part in any form or medium without specific written permission is prohibited.

With smaller sensor formats such as Micro Four Thirds, you simply shoot at larger apertures than with full-frame or APS-C cameras. In fact, we found ourselves wishing we had a second copy of the lens with which to shoot our DPReview TV footage, which you'll find towards the end of this page below. Corner sharpness when focused in the center of the frame isn't bad, but focusing on the top right corner yields notably sharper results there, indicating some field curvature on the 'telephoto' end. For this discussion, at this time, we are talking about how good a lens is for the general photographer, not for just a super talented photographer. lens for any Micro Four Thirds shooters that are on tight budget, or are not willing to spend too much for lens upgrades.Panasonic LX-100 for me is a good camera that used to carry often, but I also have Sony RX1 and Leica Q2.
