The series are a collection of 50p coins (BU and colourised variants) and various silver and gold weights. The release schedule is that Harry Potter is released October 2022, Hogwarts Express 2022, Dumbledore 2023, and Hogwarts 2023. The 2022 coins feature Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, and the 2023 will have King Charles III. The Harry Potter coin, actually available on a range of denominations including the 50p, is the first of four coins to be issued as part of the series. The Royal Mint has announced that the first two collections in the 25 Years Of Magic series will feature Jody Clark's portrait of the late Queen: the fifth and final definitive portrait to be used on her coinage. Founded in the reign of Alfred the Great, around the year 886, The Royal Mint was originally one of several mints which were centralised to London in 1279. For more than 800 years the Mint was based at the Tower of Londonbefore moving to Royal Mint Court where it remained until the 1960s.
