On another level, the colour palette used in Girl with Balloon has often reminded me of the movie Schlinder’s List by Steven Spielberg from 1994. Justin Bieber's Banksy Tattoo Blasted By The Graffiti Artist, Sort Of". The Huffington Post UK. 18 March 2014. Archived from the original on 4 March 2021 . Retrieved 7 March 2016.

Banksy’s Girl With A Balloon is one of his most recognizable works. With two simple shapes, one burst of red, and a short faded statement, “There is always hope” Banksy is able to leave an impressionable mark on viewers of this artwork.

Street art develops into multiple forms in public places or on the streets. The term includes: the practice of graffiti, use of stencils, paint and markers, video projection, creation of posters on streets and sidewalks. Street art is considered a movement of artists who refuse to be associated with the masses, who want to raise attention by showing their political opinions, without being associated with a particular art form. The street artists are basically the ones who prefer to perform without permission, without prior consent, without taboos and without limits. Street art can be seen everywhere in the world, since it has no boundaries, nor sex, nor predetermined delimitation. All this has contributed to making this form of art increasingly original and popular. The meaning behind the art is open to interpretation, but many have seen it as a commentary on the human desire for hope and the struggle to hold on to it in difficult times. The image of the girl reaching for the balloon suggests a sense of longing or aspiration, while the red color of the balloon can be seen as a symbol of passion or vitality. Born in principle in 1973, since 1993 his works shine on several continents. It seems he said that he doesn’t express himself at best with the usual spray can and only in 2000 did he start using more elaborate stencils. But not only: next to the stencils he’s also dedicated to paintings, sculptures, diversions of urban objects or classic works, installations. Banksy is a versatile artist. He plays and provokes. He shows some of the facets of human conditions, always elaborated with a good dose of humor. His recurring figures are monkeys, mice, policemen, children, cats and members of the royal family.

Of course, we cannot talk about the Balloon Girl without mentioning the high profile incident at a Sotheby’s auction in October 2018. Through his work, Banksy aims to draw attention to important social and political issues and to provoke thought and discussion among viewers. His messages often touch on topics such as capitalism, consumerism, war, poverty, and the environment, among others. This piece, one of the famous Banksy artworks, was found in Melbourne, Australia. Depicted is a homeless man who does not want physical money but seeks real, lasting social change. This is often considered to be Banksy’s most iconic piece of work. The words “There Is Always Hope” are written near a young girl, who is reaching for a heart-shaped balloon.Hull is another city where Banksy works can be found dotted around the city with the most noted one being the ‘Draw the Raised Bridge’ artwork found on the Scott Street Bridge. However, since it’s unveiling in 2018, the bridge has been designated for demolition which means the mural will have to be moved to a new location in the city centre. While there’s been no further word on where this mural is going, you can see another on the city’s Queen Street. Located in a car park off the main carriageway, there is a mural depicting 2 children gazing up at Mary Poppins who is flying off with a Lidl bag in tow. There have been rumours among the locals as to whether it’s a genuine Banksy but given its styling and the characteristic nod to capitalism in the Lidl bag, it’d have to have come from a very good copy-cat.
