This is a really great story but I had one personal disappointment. While I appreciate the strength of the conflict Holiday presented, I do wish Elise and Jay had remained child-free, simply because there are not many romances where being child-free is presented as a valid option. Yes, Elise had a condition which, until now, prevented pregnancy but she and Jay began their relationship knowing they wouldn't have kids and they were both fine with this. Of course, feelings can change and I absolutely understood where Elise was coming from. I just wish more romance authors overall didn't equate pregnancy and progeny with a couple's happily ever after. It’s gotten to the stage where I don’t even glance at the blurb before beginning a Cathy Bramley book because I just know that I am going to adore the story. Her covers alone always make me want to read her wonderful, feel good escapist stories and I’m delighted that lately she seems to be publishing two books a year because I just can’t get enough of her writing. No doubt about it she is up there in my top five authors and she just continues to go from strength to strength. So to say when I discovered that her Christmas book for this year, Merrily Ever After, was a follow up story to The Merry Christmas Project that was published last year, that I was excited would be an understatement. I had always felt that there was more to be told in the story of Merry and thankfully Cathy felt the same way. Yes, this new book can be read as a standalone but really I urge you to read the previous book beforehand and then delve straight into this one as you’ll become completely immersed in a wonderful Christmas story in a setting where you instantly feel at home and with characters you come to truly care about. All this is wrapped up in a wonderful sense of all things Christmas that Cathy is so brilliant at. New Leading Man in 'We Roll Along' ". The New York Times. October 21, 1981 . I seldom read ”clean romance” and I liked this one. I didn’t connect with any of the characters but I was happy to be a spectator. The first Australian professional production was presented by the Sydney Theatre Company at the Footbridge Theatre in May–July 1996. It featured Tom Burlinson, Tony Sheldon, Peta Toppano, Greg Stone and Gina Riley, and was directed by Wayne Harrison. [43] Krystal Joy Brownis a multi-talented Broadway favorite & T.V. & Film actress.Krystalmost recently playedEliza in Hamiltonon Broadway and is a recurring guest-star on the Starz series, Power Book III: RaisingKanan, season two. She also is a recurring guest star on the hit CBS series, The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah. Her new film Girlfriendshippremiered this fall starring Tamara Mowry and directed by Keisha Knight Pullman. This is a synopsis of the current produced version of the show, not the original one performed on Broadway. The reason this series is so great is the group of friends at its center. Elise, Jane, Wendy, and Gia are best friends and each woman gets her chance to shine in her own book so it’s only fair that former bridezilla Elise take a turn.I guessed fairly early as to how the stories might intersect and it didn't remotely detract from my enjoyment and seeing if I was right, as I was enjoying all of the characters so much, I just was engrossed in their stories. Aside from her many theatrical pursuits, she is a stage and screenwriter, columnist, novelist, and songwriter, her original music has been featured on ABC’s The Neighbors& ABC’s Mistresses. She made her directorial debut in 2019 with the short film she co-wrote, Reddy Records. She has been commissioned to write and develop diverse new stories for stage and screen, sparking a new passion for the ambitious multi-hyphenate. A "streamlined" off-Broadway revival, directed by Susan H. Schulman, opened on May 26, 1994, at the York Theatre in St. Peter's Church, and ran for 54 performances. The cast included Malcolm Gets as Frank, Adam Heller as Charley, and Amy Ryder as Mary. [27] A cast recording was released by Varèse Sarabande. [19] [28] Tilly feels that maybe moving here was actually a really good idea after all. However, she just does not know if she has the type of personality and attitude that everyone else here seems to encompass so easily. Staying in the shadows may be more her speed. Can the people that live in this community convince her to come out and have some fun? Bramley was not always a professional writer. She first worked for a while running her marketing agency for a period of 18 years after receiving her degree in business. Even though she did not become a published author right away and spent several years hitting up the popular night spots to dance, Cathy has always avidly enjoyed reading. She always takes a book with her on the go and may have finally discovered her dream job.

Coleman, Nancy (August 30, 2019). " 'Merrily' This Film Will Roll Along. For the Next 20 Years". The New York Times . Retrieved September 6, 2019. Spring is the fun first book in the Ivy Lane series of fiction. It is in this debut story that readers are first introduced to the main character of Tilly Parker. She is just your average girl, but she could use some fresh air and a fresh start and attitude if she ever wants things to really change. Both women are facing changes ahead for different reasons, and the sense of family is strong in each woman. I have to be so careful about what I say as there are so many wonderful moments within this story, there are several layers that are gradually unwrapped and believe me when I say you may need a tissue or more. When Jay finally got on board and fell head over heels for Elise, he knew he had to toe the line he knew he was taking on all her friends too. When Elise thinks she’s pregnant, she’s calling in her troops they are there. Telling Jay and he reacts wrong, they are there too. They are fun and real as a couple. Jay is an accountant who to everyone else he is straight-laced and uptight. But being part owner of the business with his partner leaves him feeling the role of the adult. Much of the time in his household growing up is did as well. Which leaves him now wanting to cut loose with his younger wife. I appreciated the journey they both took in this little novella, and how a whole new layer of trust was built from this unexpected life event.
