It was also a nice fit for carrying around a 35mm range finder and an extra lens.

The X-Small cube is a solid choice if you don't need to carry much gear. It nicely holds my Canon R5 with 50mm lens and a compact point-and-shoot film camera. The Smedium cube comfortably holds a camera body, an additional lens, and a flash with room to spare. Lowepro and other brands make these, but I'm sure that the Peak Design models are of excellent quality.I’m sure lots of us have a surplus old camera bag that we could substitute instead that would the same job.“

I started adding padded dividers and small camera bags to general purpose bags many years ago. . . As a traveling PJ/editorial contract/freelance photographer, I valued nondescript gear bags. In those days camera bags always looked like camera bags or fancy luggage that were useless to me. They're also more budget-friendly than investing in a traditional camera bag – making them a good option for anyone just getting started with photography. Although we love the concept of the x-small size, it would be nice if this cube had a bit more depth to fit a full-frame 24-70mm lens. The major issue with all these inserts is that they are basically sealed bags that sit inside seals bags and it all gets a bit inconvenient. They are also a fixed size that may or may not work for the gear you want to carry on a given day. Not special but functional and comfortable is where most are looking for. I use the medium (previous version) and it's good padded and well made. Overall, the Cubes feature a straightforward design, and the velcro dividers make it easy to switch up the inner organization to fit the amount of gear you need to carry. In Use

Although these may not be as exciting as a new piece of glass or a fancy light, they are highly functional and versatile accessories that make it easy to carry your gear and keep it safe when you aren't shooting.
