Without further ado, let’s meet some more runners that will attempt to break a record during the TCS London Marathon 2023. The fourth record to be broken during the day was by Gower Tan, an experienced runner who attempted to snatch the GWR title in a scientist costume.

While we can't all run a marathon as fast as Eliud Kipchoge or Paula Radcliffe, that doesn't stop us wanting to be the best. That is why we have extended our running gear to include fancy dress, washing machines and even stilts. I’d always been quite active but never particularly fancied running on its own,” she admits, recalling how she got into running. And we mean this literally. The fastest time to carve one tonne of pumpkins is 3 hours 33 minutes 49 seconds, achieved by Stephen Clarke (USA) at Harrah's Casino Resort, Atlantic City, NJ on 29 October 2008. One of her friends then mentioned that he owned a squirrel tail that she could use, and Emma started building her hyper-realistic costume from there! He already underwent the challenge of running every day for a year, no matter the conditions: come rain, sunshine or snow, he would complete a minimum of one mile every day.

Fastest marathon in pyjamas (male)

Running can be relaxing, inspiring and life-changing, and Emma wanted to embrace the positive aspects of it while having fun. Apparently, Thomas’ nine-year-old son did not think his dad could beat such a long-standing record! Jez Clements: Fastest marathon dressed as a three dimensional television character (male) - 03:55:27 Surely and steadily, soon after other record-breaking runners started crossing the finishing line with outstanding times and colorful costumes. Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford was also present at the finish line, in full official gear, to adjudicate, confirm and celebrate all the records that were broken during the day.

On a chilly autumn day, 54 record attempts took place, with runners aiming to enter the annals of Guinness World Records. As always, many of the runners that attempted records today are also supporting charities close to their hearts. On the day all you can do is your best. If you aren’t successful there will always be another marathon for you to try again (your application will remain active for a year if you don't submit evidence). If you are successful then firstly have a drink, you've earned it, and secondly start to collate all of your evidence and submit it for approval. If all is well then you will soon have a Guinness World Records certificate to go alongside your medal. You might want to throw the costume out though, it’s starting to smell a bit… The Virgin Money London Marathon flooded the streets once again on Sunday 3 October 2021 for its 41st edition, albeit during very special circumstances.Originally from Richmond, Virginia, one of the passions of this one-of-a-kind runner is advocating for pedestrian and bicycle safety.

After a 2020 event only open to elite runners due to Covid-19, special measures have been taken this year to allow the event to go ahead. With the London Marathon she will be halfway through with her goal and, for this event, her decision to raise funds for WaterAid came from her personal experience.

And as they passed the finish line together at 3 hr 48 min 12 sec, little did Scott know that they’d just secured the record for fastest marathon dressed as a sweet food (male).

But this is the grandaddy of all the records. In this attempt, people needed to be dressed in full traditional Halloween costume, meaning vampires, witches, Frankensteins, etc. And on Halloween night in 2010, the New Orleans Saints and NBC Sports hosted 17,777 costumed participants at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, as part of its audience for a Sunday Night Football game againstn the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints went home with a win, and the fans with a record. I enjoy pushing my body to its limits, showing that disability is not a negative and, in fact, disabled people can achieve so much with the right support and environment. “ - Claudia I have been running for over a decade now,” she explains. “I ran my first marathon when I was 15 years old, and I have been running them ever since.”This will not be Kirk’s first marathon and, although he will not be running for a charity, he is using the event’s major reach to encourage more people to discover their surroundings. That's one giant gourd. The heaviest pumpkin weighed 1,054.01 kg (2,323.70 lb) when it was presented by Beni Meier (Switzerland) at the European Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off in Ludwigsburg, Germany, this Oct. 12. Beni's got the formula down pat: he grew three record-breaking pumpkins in a single season. Charinya Kanchanasevee, a 32-year-old dentist from Bangkok, Thailand, is going to run while showcasing the traditional clothes of her culture. Her efforts will raise money for The National Lobster Hatchery, a Cornwall-based marine conservation, research and education charity that focuses on the over-exploitation of a specific commercial species: the lobster, which is at the centre of a major export industry but also a delicate part of the marine eco system. The Jersey, Channel Islands natives celebrated Alan’s recovery from an injury with Scott’s help by running the Jersey Marathon in St Helier… dressed as ice creams!
