The former is essentially identical to the product on review here, but doesn't include internet radio, while the latter is a stereo version of the Pure Elan Connect. So, if internet radio isn’t essential, then you can spend less; if you want the same features and stereo sound, you can spend more. We loved how intuitive and user-friendly this device was and appreciated the fact that we could listen to music using a variety of different connection options. Diversity can be so easy: Do you want to tune in and listen to classic USW or DAB/DAB+ radio? Or do you prefer to dial up your Spotify Connect via Bluetooth - be it from your smartphone, tablet or notebook? Or, easier yet, how about connecting, for instance, your turntable to your Pure radio via AUX for even greater choice? If you mainly listen to DAB radio then basic Bluetooth speakers can be a bit of a fiddle. Cue the Revival Petite, which combines both and can be used anywhere. It’s cleverly designed, easy to use, and features a surprisingly good bass response - though it’s best used indoors. The latter works better here than on most DAB radios, and the Pure Elan Connect+ is all-round easy to use. However, there are a few things to note when it comes to the hardware.

When adjusting the volume of the radio or changing radio stations sometimes a sound can be heard through the headphones. This seems to occur in time with the change of information on the display. It’s disappointing to find this on the radio and whether it bothers you could depend on your own listening experience. User interface And as if that was not enough, DAB/DAB+ devices are substantially more energy efficient while also offering much more variety in terms of stations (radio programmes) than classic FM receivers. Plus, DAB/DAB+ can receive data such as song title, album, artist, album cover images or even videos in addition to sound and music.Pure offers a wide range of DAB/DAB+ radios with Bluetooth and portable radios with integrated or external battery operation and colour display. Unlike on some radios the time isn’t permanently shown. The station name, scrolling text, time, date and other information can be toggled by pressing the Tuning/Select knob. The display looks slightly old fashioned but the large text makes tuning very easy. Perhaps the clearest sound comes via Bluetooth streaming, which was a surprise (it’s so often the low point of DAB radios attempting to also be streaming devices). So if you mainly listen to podcasts that aren’t accessible via internet radio, then this unit could work well for you.

The Pure Elan One has some welcome improvements over the Pure One Mi range. A larger full colour screen, a rotary knob for the volume and battery and mains power options are all useful updates. Compared to other budget radios the less shiny plastic finish makes it feel like a more premium product. This also occurred with the radio not finding BBC Radio Tees during a scan, while the Sony did with RDS. The Roberts Play 10 did however perform better than a supermarket DAB/FM radio. Many radio stations are available digitally, but some local commercial and most community radio stations are not. Not everyone will make use of the wireless charging feature: but either way you're getting a sleek, well-designed DAB radio and speaker that's well worth a look. The radio can be powered with the included adapter or AA batteries. On first impressions the radio is smaller than it looks in photos. Sound quality

The Pure Elan Connect+’s 2.4-inch display may be colour, but it isn’t a touchscreen. There’s no app, so it connects to your home’s Wi-Fi network via the WPS button on a Wi-Fi router. Easy if you know what you’re doing – and it worked fine in our test – but this isn’t ideal if you’re gifting this product to someone who may be less tech-savvy.
