A review in Kirkus Reviews of Six-Dinner Sid wrote "Moore makes the most of her tall tale in amusing illustrations detailing Sid's several characters, then ends with a satisfying twist. Since the neighbors on Aristotle street don’t talk to each other, no one realizes that Sid gets six dinners each night.

Neighbours were popping in daily, but the cats were spending more time away from home, probably seeking human company. How often is an audience able to see a view of a cat getting in through a skylight and two children watching on from across the street… in a single shot?

But one day, while working in mapmaking, she had to draw some landscapes, and rediscovered her passion.

Lastly, my godson, the main person to whom I was reading, didn't seem to be particularly interested in the book. Other picture books that she has both written and illustrated include A House in the Woods (2011) and Captain Cat (2013). But it got a laugh, and we really liked the illustrations and the realistic personality type of Sid, a. The street might seem broader, less quaint but the residents are friendly, all know each other and welcome Sid and his dietary requirements with open arms. The illustrations were adorable, and the story about kind people looking after their community cat made me smile. In these stories about opportunistic tricksters, there’s a storytelling rule which I have not yet seen broken: At the climax, their scheming ways are exposed for all to see. Booklist found that "Children will empathize with the actions and attitudes of this charmingly greedy feline. Of course, our wily feline has to work hard at being six different kinds of cat, but all goes well until he gets a cold and is taken to the vet - six times! She was pretty plump and we thought she might be pregnant, so we took her to the vet to get her checked out and discovered she had already been spayed, had an official owner and another 'adopted' family besides us!

The titular Sid visits six different homes on his street, and each family thinks they are the only ones feeding him . As well as writing her own books, she has illustrated several classics such as Wind in the Willows and The Secret Garden.

She had no formal training but she did have a good grounding in technical drawing and patience and discipline. After her Latin teacher told her off for her ‘silly drawing’, she sadly stopped making art for a while. What cat wouldn't like to eat six dinners - judging from the cat companions I have ever known over the years, none - or to have six adoring humans waiting upon him? This is a great book for cat lovers who can appreciate the 90% intellectual and the 10% calculating ways of our fabulous feline family members.
