After a shower, I'd spray it above my head and let the mist fall upon me as I breathed in deeply while my eyes were closed. Sure, it would be awesome to be able to shed that emotional bagage and rediscover 4711 with a fresh mind, but for me, personally, it will always be a window into the past. I am surprised that 4711 is still around, that so many people on Fragrantica are trying and actually liking it and that it is even a topic in 2022.

So when I smell this juice, i'd say it's neroli (not that fresh any more), and no more illusionary analysis. Due to the poor performance, and due to the fact that there are better citrus fragrances and colognes out there, I can't give 4711 Cologne a 10/10. It smells either like alcohol or like those refreshing tissues passengers get on commercial airliners.The carefully selected ingredients and precise blending techniques result in a well-balanced fragrance that is both captivating and long-lasting. Interestingly, the realism put off my partner, who said it "didn't smell like a perfume" and that it smelt to him as if he had rubbed a plain spice or herb directly onto his skin rather than a fragrance blend. Neroli, extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange, has a calming effect in the base note, creating a positive mood.
