MEASURING TECHNIQUES. We have found that measuring a handheld or vertical gun is difficult, resulting in errors. Place the gun (barrels) horizontal on a table or countertop at rest and insert the BoreMaster probes keeping them parallel to the barrels. That technique will always result in accurate and repeatable readings. The Deluxe Kit also includes an ejector spring rivet cutter that lets you take off just the peened area of the front rivet and often lets you re-peen the existing rivet. The punches are made of hardened steel with a blue finish, while the rivet cutter has a steel shaft and hardened steel cutter. The kit includes two punches, each 3-½" long, with a hole in the face of the #1 tool to fasten the ejector housing to the receiver with the lower portion of the rivet. The #2 tool secures the ejector spring within the ejector housing with the upper portion of the rivet.
