Radeon + up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070Ti Laptop 8GB (up to 125W with Dynamic Boost) on GV601RW model One thing I’m a little concerned about is the digitizer layer that we’ll be getting here, since pen support is mentioned. From past experience, digitizers can cause a graininess effect over white content, visible when editing texts and browsing, and I’m hoping this will not be a concern here. We’ll know more once we get to review this. In a tougher work test the Flow delivered 4hrs 35mins of usage, which is on par with the Razer Blade 15 and a bit better than the Alienware – and longer than both 17.3-inch rivals. That will only get you through until lunchtime, but it still allows you more versatility than many gaming notebooks. There’s no denying the Flow’s quality, but it’s not perfect: the display could be a bit better, the chassis could be cooler and quieter and connectivity could be improved. And you’ll certainly get more gaming power if you spend similar cash on a conventional laptop. On Turbo, the design allows up to 140W of combined CPU+GPU power in games and demanding loads. The GPU takes up to 125W with Dynamic Boost, and the reminding 15W go to the CPU.

There’s no other similar device out there as of mid-2022, a convertible laptop able to marry under the same hood a fairly portable 16-inch format with modern and powerful specs, an excellent thermal module, and a big battery.

visual Anda untuk genre game tertentu. Mode First Person Shooter (FPS), misalnya, meningkatkan visibilitas USB-A 3.2 gen1, 1x USB-C 3.2 (4.0 update later in the year) with data, video and charging, 1x ROG xGM port, HDMI 2.0b, micro SD card reader, headphone&mic As far as I can tell at this time, the Flow X16 is a potentially popular addition to the ROG lineup. The processor is suitably high-end, too. AMD’s Ryzen 9 6900HS has eight multi-threaded cores and a peak speed of 4.9GHz – it should have no issues with tough workloads.

The convertible mechanism will be a boon for lots of gamers. Flip the display into a tented or propped-up position and you can use the Asus like a little TV screen and play with a controller. Fully rotate the screen and it’s perfect for touchscreen games on the sofa. Here’s a list of the exact Flow X16 configurations that will be available in stores this year (some might be exclusive to select markets).

On to more demanding loads, we start by testing the CPU’s performance by running the Cinebench R15 test for 15+ times in a loop, with a 1-2 seconds delay between each run. Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is used as the dedicated graphics unit, which has access to 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Performance is at a high level thanks to the most powerful variant (125 watt TGP, including Dynamic Boost), which is not necessarily what you would expect from a compact and lightweight 16-inch convertible.

There are also four GPU modes: Ultimate, Standard, Energy Saving and Optimized. "Ultimate" enables the MUX switch, which keeps the RTX 3070 Ti as the active GPU at all times and connects it directly to the internal display instead of detouring through the Radeon iGPU. Activating it requires a reboot (no Advanced Optimus). In Standard mode, you can switch between the integrated and dedicated graphics unit as required (Optimus / "MSHybrid"), while in Energy Saving mode the Nvidia GPU is deactivated (also in mains operation) and the iGPU is used. Optimized mode corresponds to Standard mode, with the difference that the Nvidia GPU is completely deactivated in battery mode. For comparison, the i7 + RTX 3060 140W configuration in one of the best full-size laptops in the year, the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro, ends up within 3-10% faster in the tested games than this Flow X16, while also running significantly noisier on its top profile. The CPU’s Geekbench single- and multi-core results of 1,556 and 10,067 are excellent, and mean that the Asus has plenty of power for multi-tasking and creative work. In fact, the audio system on this laptop should come close to what Asus offer on the Zephyrus G15/M16 models, and that’s excellent news. However, there are only 2x tweeters and 2x main speakers on the bottom with this series, though, and not 4x tweeters + 2x main speakers as on the Zephyrus models. The workmanship is at a high level, the base unit cannot be twisted and the display also leaves little room for torsion. Haptically, the slightly roughened surfaces feel very good. The patterning of the lid is also replicated in an exclusively optical form on the palm rest, including the touchpad. Fingerprints are immediately visible, but the final version of the Flow X16 is not expected to adopt the corrugated pattern, instead using a special coating to keep fingerprints at bay. That’s expensive compared to the Zephyrus G15 and M16, which are both several hundreds of USD/EUR less for similar specs. Take these with a grain of salt, though, as prices might go down once the Flow X16 actually becomes available in stores. The speakers are good too – the quartet of speakers inside this rig deliver solid bass and a well-defined mid-range that doesn’t become tinny at the top end. A headset will be better, as always, but this audio kit is perfectly usable. Keyboard & Touchpad: Tap Happy Looks like the Flow X16 is going to demand a premium over the existing clamshell ROG Zephyrus designs of this generation, and that’s getting you the convertible form-factor with a touch-enabled mini LED display, paired with a sturdily made chassis, uncompromised inputs and ports, and the excellent balance of performance, cooling and noise levels for a thin-and-light performance ultraportable.

Factor in the 32GB of DDR5 memory, not to mention a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and Asus’s comprehensive cooling tech including a Tri-fan thermal module, and you have a recipe for huge performance by pretty much every metric. For the record, the Flow X16 also supports Asus’s ROG XG Mobile external graphics boxes. That may enable you to upgrade the graphics performance in future. For now, though, that 3070 Ti GPU should be plenty. In the same vein as the ROG Strix Scar 17 SE, this laptop comes with two display options: a Mini-LED QHD display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a refresh rate of 165Hz. This variation can reach up to 1,100 nits, according to Asus, as well as a contrast score of 100,000:1. The thermal/power design of this Flow X16 allows the processor to run at up to 80W of sustained power in demanding CPU loads, ensuring the maximum multi-threaded performance that this AMD platform is capable of. That’s only possible on Manual mode with maxed-out fans, though. We’ll get to that in a bit. These would allow combined performance and gaming numbers similar to those recorded in our Zephyrus M16 review, but accounting for the slightly lower capabilities of the AMD platform compared to the 12th gen Core i9 in the M16. We have reviewed the Ryzen 9 6000 processor in the ROG Zephyrus G14 and the full-size ROG Strix G15, though, if curious how it fares against that i9. ROG GameVisual software offers six expertly tuned graphic modes designed to optimise your visual experience for specific game genres. First Person Shooter (FPS) mode, for example, enhances visibility in dark environments, allowing you to get the drop on any enemies lurking in the shadows. Here’s our detailed review of this 2023 Asus ROG Flow X16 update. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3070 Ti arrives inside the Asus ROG Flow X16 with its usual 8GB of memory and 5888 stream processors, and the GPU runs at its peak power output of 125W. AMD’s Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU has eight multi-threaded cores and a top speed of 4.9GHz,
