Winter is the season of extreme contrast, with long nights plunging the natural world into darkness and white snow covering the ground.

Like Bright Spring, the most prominent characteristic of Bright Winter is the clear appearance of the features. Some of you will recognise familiar words from the Complines in Celtic Daily Prayer drawn from Carmina Gadelica and other traditional sources. This season flows into Summer from Spring, which tints skin, hair and eyes neutral-cool and makes this Summer type slightly brighter than the other two. Neutrals - I went with a largely neutral palette for my card today, using Island Indigo for my sentiment to pick up on the bold blue of the image. The large knot reminds us of our life journey and how God wants us to be immersed, surrounded and sharing in His journey. To match the gentle but brighter appearance, Light Summer colours are light and delicate but still fairly colourful like various flavours of ice cream. This will be a great set for memory keeping and traditional scrapbooking, as well as card making - it's incredibly versatile and I can't wait to share more of it with you.
