Gradually, others put theirs away, too, and it's now rather uncommon to catch a whiff of it while out and about. I can't remember the last time I smelled on someone.

Love it... I bought my first bottle when I was in college in the winter of 1985. It's a great winter and fall scent, very rich and long lasting, so go easy on it. A couple of shots on your chest under your shirt will keep you out of trouble with the "way too much" syndrome. The fact that is inexpensive and you can find it in drugstores, doesn’t make it “cheap” smelling, but subject to snobby people and such attitude is a real shame. big sprays on me last for hours and for the first three hours it easily projects to around 20 feet!!!

It goes without saying that the projection is devastating. I like to spray this fragrance on at least half an hour before I have to be around people. It needs time to settle down a bit.

Citrus and fruity opening followed by a blast of patchouli. It blends well with the soft floral notes in the centre and everything is tied up nicely with moss, wood and amber.There's not patchouli there, like you'd find in Givenchy Gentleman (1974) or Lush Karma, or Guerlain Héritage, or Zino Davidoff, or Beau de Jour. I walked out of there muttering to myself that the heart and drydown better be worth this initial olfactory assault. The Giorgio boutique on Rodeo Drive was selling both the Giorgio Beverly Hills perfume for women & men. My girlfriend didn't care for the women's perfume as she thought it was too "mature" for her with it's fragrant white flowers patchouli & other chemical mess notes. But I happened to like the men's cologne which in all honesty is vastly superior than the woman's perfume. Why Giorgio did this I'll never know. The woman's perfume was the worst perfume of the entire 1980's but the men's cologne is one that even women would have been better off wearing. Devoid of those multiple white florals & musk, Giorgio For Men is like a more pleasant Giorgio For Women! Let me tell you my little story with this one (apologies beforehand, it got rather long): Born in the 80s I grew up with some powerhouses worn by my mother. She smelled (smells) fabulous and looks the part. She also had a bottle of Giorgio, which at some point stood on the counter of the guest bathroom (she is more the Opium kind of girl). However, I always smelt it now and then because its so gorgeous, a happy scent. Powerful? Sure! But, as stated below - never cloying. I still enjoy this fragrance and always keep a bottle on hand for ME! I am female...I find even the reformulation has better sillage and longevity then any new fragrances I try in today's offerings...(Male , female or unisex)
