After not hearing from Qi’ra for several days, she plays the message on the disc she left for her. In the message we see the true heart and spirit of Qi’ra come out. Her only reason for taking Cadeliah was to give her the choices she never had. Cadeliah mirrors Qi’ra in so many ways. She’s forced into a life she hasn’t chosen for herself. Being trapped in a life with no options has left Qi’ra being forced to be someone she didn’t want to be. She doesn’t want this for Cadeliah.

In terms of a setup issue, I can’t imagine Hidden Empire #1 being much better. Some character choices left me a bit baffled, and the art of Kho Phon Farrus had them looking like a totally different character from their appearance in Doctor Aphra. It’s not my story though, and it’s hardly the first time an artist has a different take on a character. Either way, if all the potential this issue tees up comes to fruition, Hidden Empire going to be a special time. CHAOS REIGNS! The epic conclusion to the trilogy begun with WAR OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS and CRIMSON REIGN! At last, Qi'ra will reveal herself to the Sith. At last, she will have her revenge. Plot summary [ ] Since he’s not named (it’s him though… see the image below) and is in only one panel many collectors will likely consider this a cameo first appearance rather than a full first appearance. Xizor’s story in legends is very connected to story after the Empire falls. To me this is more evidence that the comics will be moving past the destruction of the 2nd Death Star sooner than later. It is also satisfying that despite the fall of Crimson Dawn and Qi’ra’s failure to destroy the Sith, she changed the life of the young Cadeliah for the better, helping her in a way that no one ever helped Qi’ra.

Hidden Empire #5 is a mostly satisfying ending to Qi’ra’s story. She successfully outsmarts Palpatine and Vader and could’ve defeated them once and for all if it wasn’t for the Knights of Ren’s foolish actions. This is the best way of respecting Qi’ra’s formidable character and all her scheming without undermining or contradicting other canon stories. The two cut down foe after foe in a sea of swirling red sabers and blue lighting. The Fermata Cage is nearly open, and the two can sense its immense aura of dark side energy emanating from it. It’s almost intoxicating to the two Sith lords. The mysterious syndicate CRIMSON DAWN and its leader LADY QI’RA have become the galaxy’s most wanted criminals, as EMPEROR PALPATINE realizes the scope of Qi’ra’s plans against him and moves to destroy her. Next the Archivist talks about how Qi’ra got her mission to destroy the Sith from her master and formerIn the disc, she also left enough credits and resources to make for herself, whatever life she wants. For Cadeliah, she gives a choice in who she wants to be and how she wants to live. This freedom, something Qi’ra never had but always coveted, is now hers. Here we see the true heart and spirit of Qi’ra that I adore. She has played her hand about as well as she could. This cunning, fierce leader of the most powerful crime syndicate in the galaxy is also kind and caring and still have the tenderness she once had in her early years. Being forced to suppress it for many years didn’t erase it from her entirely. Now, she just finally had the chance to show it again. Leia’s spirit comes out as she expresses her desire for Qi’ra to have come to them. The archivist believes Qi’ra to be long dead, and Leia deeply wishes Qi’ra was alive to have seen them win. Dreaming of a freer galaxy, LADY QI'RA and her organization, CRIMSON DAWN, have waged a secret war against the Empire. Qi'ra activated The Qi’ra trilogy is over but the Star Wars Canon Universe continues to expand!
