An excellent thriller!… Kept me guessing until the very end. Highly recommended!” Julia Shkolnik, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Each chapter is written from the perspective of a different character and that works well, as does the theme of an earlier murder mystery that Cooper is suspected of. Because of this, it was OK for me. Well, this one was quite fast, gripping, nail biter, exciting, devouring at one bite and finishing at one sit kind of reading!

Cooper has a job lined up running things at the family newspaper but Madison has nothing planned, other than the wedding. Say I'm comparing different models of a particular car. There are four models in total, each released a year apart. The current model would be the newest one, and the "prior" model would be the one before the newest one. Why hasn't Cooper mentioned any of this to her? Is it because he's guilty of both crimes? Or is he a victim of circumstance.

Whisper Falls is a fresh start for Madison and her fiancé, Cooper. But then Madison learns that Cooper's high-school girlfriend, Ceila had disappeared after a party. Three days later her body was found in the lake. Madison loves Cooper but she can't help wondering. She has to know the truth. But if she starts asking questions, what other secrets will be revealed? Sympathy is granted sparingly; it’s typically reserved for forms of tragedy. An unpreventable illness. An unprovoked crime. We forget most people are the source of their own unhappiness. When you’re the cause of your hardships, people are less willing to forgive. Fast paced… grabs you in immediately and continues to twist around!… will reel you in! I definitely thought I had the ending figured out, but NOPE! The twists keep on coming!” Goodreads Reviewer Madison gets more confused as she learns more about her fiancee’s past and Douglas family’s secrets. Are they capable to bury all the evidence against them? Could Helen tell the truth? Could caring, loving Cooper have another personality that he hides from Madison? Is she in danger by not cancelling her marriage plan? I didn’t know what I was investigating when I started reading, and that was when the author pulled the rug from under my feet as she brought in a new mystery but so well connected to the main plotline.

I loved the author’s previous book more but it still excited me and it was whirlwind, fast, captivating reading! I love mysteries/ thrillers that are set in a small town. This story is filled with suspense, family secrets, drama, and small-town gossip. It is mostly told from the perspective of Madison Sharpe who has moved to Whisper Falls with her fiancé, Cooper Douglas. Cooper belongs to the town's most prominent family and has returned to take over the family business. Madison is excited about this new chapter in her life; planning their wedding and turning their house into a home. But it doesn't take her very long to realize that Cooper hasn't been entirely honest with her about his past and he and his family are hiding many secrets. Madison is due to marry Cooper and agrees to move to his home town of Whisper Falls after she loses her job. Celia was Cooper’s high school sweetheart, who died in a tragic accident the year they graduated. But some people think it was no accident. That my kind, loving husband is a killer. She hears rumors around town. She feels unsettled. Should she ask questions and risk disrupting her new life? Should she believe the loving man that has always supported her or strangers that love to gossip? I want to thank the publisher "Bookouture" an Netgalley for the opportunity to read this terrific AVC and any thoughts and opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone! Mistakes cast ripples; they penetrate your surface, the life you thought you had, and expand onward from there. Fast, gripping, nail-biter, exciting, devouring-at-one-bite and finishing-at-one-sitting kind of reading!” Nilufer Ozmekik

This time the story formed around a powerful Douglas Family who are wealthy, controlling and one of the most powerful, respectful families of Whisper Falls! A small, beautiful, peaceful town has shaken to the core with the tragedy of young Celia’s death more than a decade ago. A few gossiping towners still point their finger at Cooper Douglas whose her boyfriend and the last person who saw her alive. Prior suggests some sort of seniority to me, it is related to 'primo / first'. 'The bank has a prior charge over the property'. I enjoyed Madison's journey of discovery as she tries to reconcile her kind hearted fiance with the cold blooded killer image he has in town. She is also trying to negotiate new relationships with her in laws, a stressful experience that most people will be able to identify with! I don’t believe it. But the only way to be sure is to find out what happened to the woman before me…

That's not the only crime he's been accused of. A girl he was dating in college disappeared and has never been found. The girl's mother tells Madison that she's sure that Cooper killed her. Well, there are two twists I didn’t see it coming which executed so cleverly. I foresaw some revelations but they were still well played. The story kept me in toes. And I loved both Helen and Madison’s well developed, connectable characterizations.
