However, if you play this speaker at up to 60% volume you will enjoy it If you take speaker down the beach or by that inflatable pool we have all bought for the garden in the recent heatwave. It comes IPX5 rated which means it will be able to handle a sustained low-pressure water jet or in normal life, if you happen to bump in the pool and splash the speaker it will be fine. Just don’t drop the speaker in the pool otherwise it’s dead. The Speaker also has a 10m Bluetooth range which means you can connect it to your phone but won’t need to be close to the speaker for it to work. When you turn the speaker on you will also see an LED that is embedded in the rubber cover. This is a Blue light when you turn the speaker on and it flashes when you go into pairing mode. I also listen to a regular podcast on the speaker and it worked very well there no dropouts and the vocals come across nice and clear and at times I thought I had a more expensive speaker. The 2x 5-watt speakers and cylindrical design allow for a 360 degree sound experience as you can use this speaker either vertical as the speaker is placed on one of the rubberised ends or you can have it horizontal but it does not affect the sound as you have a raised rubber base. Sound quality for the JuiceBoom Pro offers a beefy bass but the mid-range is slightly off. If the volume at max the sound can be a little muddled and can become a little distorted.

This speaker also allows you to answer a call via the play button and the call quality when tested was decent call quality, so I can’t complain. The fact it comes with an IPX7 rating means you can take this speaker to the beach, away on holiday (When we are allowed to do so) and is a good size meaning it’s nice and portable. I also liked the addition of being able to use my smart assistant when listening to my music. The fact it comes with IPX5 means it can even handle the odd pool splash if you’re using it by the outdoor pool we all got in that heatwave. I would have preferred some colour choices in the speaker but that might come in time. I would have also liked to have been able to connect to a second speaker for that stereo sound. So overall, would I buy this speaker? I would say yes it’s not very expensive and if you’re looking for a speaker that has a rugged feel that can be used vertically or horizontally and has a decent sound profile for the cost of the speaker. This speaker won’t replace your home audio system but it’s great when you’re down the park or chilling on the beach.
