Overall the 58x is a headphone that will do well at almost any genre, thanks to its extended bass and beautiful midrange. It easily goes toe to toe with its older sibling, the HD 650 and there literally is no other pair of headphones that can come close to the sound fidelity it provides. Sporting new 38mm, 150 ohm dynamic drivers derived from the HD660S, does the HD58X belong in the HD6X0 family? score, unless your only other experience with audio is pressing a Black Eyed Peas Tooth-Tunes toothbrush against the inside of your sink for better sound projection/dispersion.

ANNOUNCING THE SENNHEISER X MASSDROP HD 58X JUBILEE

Most notably, the HD58X oozes nostalgia, with a cosmetic akin to the limited edition HD580 Jubilee from 1995. Emily Rowed’s voice on “Let Me Hurt (Acoustic)” is a bit too forward, but this could be the track itself and not the headphones. In an aesthetic homage to the Sennheiser HD 580 Precision headphone, the HD 58X Jubilee features a glossy black headband and gray metal grilles. In the same way that a dedicated pocket knife cuts better than a Swiss Army Knife, the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee is better for really listening to music than other headphones that have a bunch of fancy features. But this increase does not turn the whole signature upside down, but provides a somewhat stronger punch compared to the HD6XX. These performance issues also depict an overall lower level of fidelity from the HD58X that is closer to the HD558/598 than its HD6X0 counterparts.

It’s just a smidgen narrower than a 560S, but by and large the Soundstage on these 2 is pretty comparable.

these are great but if you are a big fan of jazz or classical I would go for the 600s or 650s but if you like punk , classic Rock or Metal or even Hip Hop these will serve you well. The driver doesn’t distort at all from my experience, and you can literally put a bass shelf on these with absolutely no issues.

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee - Reviews - Head-Fi.org

For whatever reason, I found the image here significantly wider than that of an HD600, especially in playing Fallout 4. As a reference, its as detailed as the HD 650 except for a few micro details which I found somewhat hard to detect on these headphones but they were literally non-existent on the HD 598SE. Using data and insights from a passionate group of enthusiasts, it applies that knowledge to a specially curated collection of products and exclusive designs that are likely to catch the attention of anyone looking for a pair of headphones or a mechanical keyboard. I love the clarity and details here, as yeah, like they said in soooo many headphones reviews, I can hear instruments that my IEMs cannot reproduce.except this time I don't have to have the cumbersome/expensive amp taking up space next to my computer. As a person who doesn't enjoy constantly switching between different sets for fun that's just the way I see it, but that's not necessarily how it will be for others, so that's just to offer some perspective. TRS connector for plugging into your devices, though you might need a quarter-inch adapter if you plan on using these with any kind of external gear.

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee review - SoundGuys

Again, this isn’t really a bad thing per se, it’s just immediately noticeable when going back and forth and seems flawed in that respect. After listening to these headphones did I realize my old HD 598SE actually had the classic veil that Sennheiser was known and sometimes despised for. I’ll admit you are right about them having a smidgen more than the HD600, but they neither sound out-of-head, nor spacious. In his spare time, he likes to fish, paint, play guitar, pray, rap, make beats, take photos, record videos, graphic design, and more.I have always found the educational pieces to be the most interesting, as I find video as a format to be much more easily digestible than article / written word. With the 58X, at times, you’ll definitely be wondering if what you just heard came from the track or outside of the headphones (i.
