Description

One of the first flankers of original Acqua di Gio and also one of the most successful ones was Acqua Di Gio Profumo – released in 2015, created by the same master perfumer who made original Acqua Di Gio, but also the king of fresh fragrances – Alberto Morillas. You don’t need both of these (though, I might personally), really, as there is overlap between them. My annual holiday was coming up and every time I fly on holiday I cover up with a new fragrance as a reward. I had 4-5 fragrances in my head that I wanted to get next, but some of them were sceptical if they could be bought at the Duty Free. Düsseldorf Airport has a good choice of fragrances, but it can't get close to Breuninger. "But" I thought to myself, "the Profumo is there for sure." I showed the Profumo to my better half at the airport. She found him megaa. That's how a man's supposed to smell and it smells great. Fresh spicy. ... Saying that the best time to wear Acqua Di Gio Profumo is definitely during spring and summer days. It can be your day fragrance, but it can also fit amazingly as a nighttime scent. I really enjoy wearing Profondo. I think that it is close enough to the original, but has enough difference to stand on its own. Especially, during the dry down stages. It becomes smooth and fairly nuanced, with woody notes and a nice sweetness.

The performance and Sillage is quite good. In the morning it was applied to the skin all the time (according to the people around me). It was not until the early evening that it decreased significantly and became very close. Acqua di gio profumo has the same effect on me as the music, mysterious, clean and with a lot of depth. The prelude is cool, aquatic and slightly dark and awakens the described associations in me. Profumo moves very close to the original, but gains a beautiful depth through the incense and patchouli, which make it look much more mature and mature. The aquatic aspect remains always present in the foreground and is accompanied by a little spice. Short and sweet a really great fragrance that makes me even more masculine. In the evening you feel special and noble at the same time.Meanwhile, Profondo starts off quite a bit like the original Acqua di Gio. The bergamot note takes the lead and is flanked by a slight mandarin orange note. The main difference is that Profondo is more marine, with less of a salty quality, and a resinous aroma from the lentisk.

For me, this fragrance certainly has niche character. Price / performance fit perfectly. 100ml for ca.80-90 euros. And the Mattschwarze flacon is a poem. Acqua Di Gio Profumo can be your summer scent as it’s very light, but it can also be your spring scent. Whether you wear it during daytime or nighttime, it doesn’t matter much, because it fits on all occasions – dinner night, office work, whatever! Acqua Di Gio Profumo is not just good — it’s an amazing classic, fresh and masculine fragrance! It’s safe to say that entire fragrance enthusiast family was sad to hear that it’s discontinued. Profondo gives me 7-8 hours before quitting. It comes fairly close to Profumo, but still can’t get the win.

Both of these colognes are very versatile spring and summer wears. That can be worn by men of all ages. Can be worn casually, lightly to the office, out on a date, etc. Since they do overlap so much, it would be easy to call this category a draw. Both of these fragrances for having marine/aquatic characteristics perform well and don’t just completely evaporate off of the skin. Though, Profumo is the more intense and long lasting of the line. Many guys will enjoy Profondo more, however. If you weren’t sold on Profumo and liked the original AdG, I’d go with Profondo. Also, if you live in a really hot and humid region, Profondo may be a better buy. Applying 5 sprays of Acqua Di Gio Profumo will deliver optimal performance of the fragrance – 2 under your ears, 1 behind your head, and 2 in the dips right beside the clavicle bone.

On average, Acqua Di Gio Profumo lasts for 7-9 hours, depending on your skin. As I’ve mentioned, it’s a very stable scent and longevity doesn’t vary much. Profondo is sort of the midway between AdG and Profumo. So, if you think Profumo is a little too much, Profondo will be a better bet for you. It’s a deeper and more marine Acqua di Gio. For me, its type is similar to L'homme: masculine, fresh, elegant and spicy but not exaggerated. The durability and Sillage are however better than with YSL. No, they're not the same. But similar in style. You can tell I don't mind these fresh scents. :)However, you can’t really overapply Acqua Di Gio Profumo. If you want “more parts of you” to smell as well, then feel free to add a few more sprays on places like your shoulders and chest (on the shirt).
