I liked this book and I did learn alot about the sickening history of antisemitism but this book was a bit dry. Ilhan Omar over 2019 statements that congressional support for Israel was “all about the Benjamins baby. In recent years, the mythology was updated to include George Soros, who, being a Hungarian-born Jewish billionaire and advocate for civil society, makes for great fodder for a fantasy cabal.

Most Democrats are skeptical of defunding the police and question the feasibility of transitioning to a state-run health-care system. Every month, Book World’s editors and critics share their favorite books that they’ve read recently.

And, of course, Jewish people have faced their share of finger-pointing and conspiracy theories over and over again. I found the history about the family very informative as well as the way conspiracy theorists take that history and twist it. I did find the last third or so much more consumable, mostly because I have more touch points and personal exposure to recent history and current cultural trends and moments.

Before that conversation could occur, Greene put out a statement denouncing “the radical, left-wing Democrat mob and the Fake News media trying to take me out” and saying “I will never back down. As Zack Beauchamp wrote for Vox, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the Rothschild family controlling the world have frequently surfaced in the past. Dissecting centuries-old antisemitic canards that maintain their hold on the popular imagination—with staggering political implications—a thorough and sobering text. Tom Emmer, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee: “We don’t support any hate-driven conspiracy theories. In a now deleted Facebook post, the controversial Republican freshman representative speculated that the fire, which killed 85 people in 2018 in Butte County, was started by a space laser connected to the Rothschild family, a wealthy Jewish family at the heart of many anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
