Games Workshop released Codex: Chaos Daemonson September 3, 2022, having teased new daemonic saves and abunch of miscellaneous rules for the faction in the run up to the release. Yourcompleteguide to rules, points, lore, hobby tips, and pretty artworks to support an Imperial Guard army, the Astra Militarum codex is an essential book to own, read, and understand. Units that Remain Stationary in their movement phase get to treat their Lasguns and Hot-shot lasguns as Heavy 2 on that shooting phase.

Beanith: The flavour text says it’s the tank itself that is the Behemoth Primal and not something you add… so your Tank Commander has been in this tank for however many games it took to get to 51+ experience and only just noticed it’s T9 and not T8? Someone promote that man. Battle Traits Advance, For the Emperor will reward up to six of your IMPERIAL GUARD units with 1 experience if they finish the game in your opponent’s deployment zone, And if one of those units was your Warlord, you’ve earned yourself a shiny Commendation point. The Astra Militarum is the largest cohesive fighting force in the galaxy. Fed by a constant tithe of soldiers raised from hundreds of thousand of worlds, its regiments form the vast bulk of Humanity's martial power. On countless worlds, the mortal soldiers of the Astra Militarum march in their billions to war, lasguns and bayonets readied to face any foe. The first clue that the T’au Empire book was incoming came hidden ina Warhammer Community post at the end of October, Games Workshop revealed the T’au codex would release early next year. No specific release date was given, but GWsaid it wouldbe one ofthe “first new codexes coming in 2022”.This incredible new model is tremendously versatile, and comes with plenty of weapon options and four separate heads which you can use to make it truly your own. It can be used with any Astra Militarum army, Cadian or otherwise – even the Death Korps of Krieg and the Catachan Jungle Fighters need battlefield command. Its dark and brooding cover was shown off on May 4, and a plethora of Chaos announcements came hot on its heels. During Warhammer Fest 2022 (May 4 – May 7), we saw a whole new range of horrible (lovely) Chaos Space Marine models. We’ve already seen some rules for the likes of the Rogal Dorn Battle Tank , and we’ve found out how to train our troopers with the doctrines that make for a cohesive fighting force , but commanding the Astra Militarum is all about the big picture. Building an army that works together as a team is half the battle, so today we’re looking at a few of the ways you can muster a 2,000-point regiment. Exhibit A: Infantry Wave

Each objective marker with a Supply Drops tally of 1-2 will grant an IMPERIAL GUARD unit within range of the objective 1 experience point. Space Marines • Chaos Space Marines • Grey Knights • Death Guard • Astra Militarum • Adeptus Mechanicus • Craftworlds • Tyranids • Dark Angels • Blood Angels • Chaos Daemons • Adeptus Custodes • Thousand Sons • T'au Empire • Necrons • Drukhari • Deathwatch • Harlequins • Imperial Knights • Space Wolves • Gellerpox Infected • Elucidian Starstriders • Orks • Genestealer Cults • Vanguard Space Marines • Daemonkin • Chaos Space Marines II • Chaos Knights • Space Marines II • Adepta Sororitas Of the four available Enhancements, Kurov’s Aquila, and Grand Strategist are the only two that really catch my eye.it followed a similar template to the Beast Snagga launch: the boxed set was available for a short time and included a limited-edition copy of the new codex, which released independently a few weeks after. Now it’s out in the wild, and includes a multitude of datasheets, Strategems, Relics, Warlord Traits, and more for the most fastidious enforcers of Imperial might. Cadian Command Squads have such a proud history of command that almost all Astra Militarum field officers follow their example. Regimental standard held high, these veterans remind their soldiers of Cadia’s tragic sacrifice – ensuring that even those troops not recruited from the bastion world can take Vengeance for Cadia.

The Dark Angels supplement – the fourth such Space Marine chapter supplement – features custom-made “datasheets, Warlord Traits, Relics, and a Psychic Discipline, as well as a suite of Crusade campaign rules that represent the sombre quest of the Unforgiven”, according to GW.As well as new sculpts of the Chaos Space Marine PossessedandChaos Cultists, there were threebrand new, gruesomely mutated kits: the ‘Accursed Cultist Mutants’ and ‘Accursed Cultist Torments’. Meanwhile, there was confirmation of long-standing rumors that the World Eaters traitor legion would have their own codex, and brand new models. Uplifting Primers costs you 1 RP spent before a battle and for this solid investment, you can use the Insane Bravery Stratagem on a Platoon Infantry unit for 1CP… but wait, there’s more thankfully. All of your Platoon Infantry units will walk away with 1 additional experience point so long as it doesn’t take a Devastating Blow after the game. Editorializing a bit here: This was a bad move. If your design goal was to tone down the current version of Born Soldiers for some reason, you could have put a ‘half range’ rider on it or something to that effect. For players that want to push up the board and meaningfully interact with their opponents, this rule is largely wasted ink. As far as I can tell, there’s no way for mobile units to act ‘as if they had Remained Stationary ’ to turn on this rule. From an external perspective, Guard becomes a hated matchup for many players when the Artillery park becomes the go-to build for this army and that’s exactly the kind of list-building this rule encourages (hint: I think Artillery park may very well be a go-to build for this army). So enjoy that, non-Guard-playing nerds. His steed Konstantin* is decades old, now largely cybernetic and clad in gleaming armour. From this lofty perch, Arcadian Leontus commands the men and women of the Astra Militarum as they endure horrifying battles in their mission to protect the Imperium from the heretic, the mutant, and the alien.
