Walt Disney Classics children's trailer from 1998 (short version) [announced by John Sachs] (UK Pitched) While Eglantine and company are off on exciting journeys, opposition develops in the form of a bookman (Sam Jaffe) looking for the same elusive spell and a priest (Roddy McDowall, underused) wanting to acquire Eglantine's land. Such foes are of minor concern and are long forgotten by the time the real villains (Nazi soldiers) arrive for a climactic comeuppance.VHS Videos with Walt Disney Home Video's children's trailer from Late 1991 (announced by Brian Cummings) David Tomlinson as Professor Emelius Browne, Miss Price's former teacher and headmaster of Correspondence College of Witchcraft Opening (Original 1982 release) [ ] Closing (Original 1982 release) [ ] Opening (1986 Re-release) [ ] Closing (1986 Re-release) [ ] Opening (1988 Re-release) [ ] Closing (1988 Re-release) [ ] Opening (1992 Re-release) [ ] Songs: "The Old Home Guard", "A Step in the Right Direction", "The Age of Not Believing", "With a Flair", "Eglantine", "Portobello Road", "The Beautiful Briny", "Substitutiary Locomotion", "Nobody's Problems" Weinrib also voices Secretary Bird, a prim and proper type who is King Leonidas's secretary, and often bears the brunt of the King's outbursts.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks: Enchanted Musical Edition DVD Review Bedknobs and Broomsticks: Enchanted Musical Edition DVD Review

The Lion King (Coming to Video + Roaring onto Video Soon) (Coming Soon to Video) (announced by John Sachs) This Enchanted Musical Edition registers as a disappointment. The feature presentation is the same mixed-bag reconstruction of the previous DVD, with the tauter theatrical cut still not offered. More surprisingly, the release offers a pretty blatant downgrade in the bonus features department. The one all-new addition plays like an extended and inappropriate promo for "Wizards of Waverly Place"; for a far better piece on Disney visual effects, you need only look to the recent reissue of Pete's Dragon. That an art gallery, film facts, bonus shorts, and half of the Sherman Brothers featurette from Bedknobs' 30th Anniversary Edition DVD are dropped in favor of "Wizards" and Blu-ray promotion is a pretty good indication that a 2-disc set was called for. Plus, what a missed opportunity to catch up with Angela Lansbury and the kids. I agree Wonderlicious- it would be nice to have access to both the theatrical and 25th/30th Anniversary versions on Blu-ray.

Ian Weighill as Charles "Charlie" Rawlins. Charlie is the eldest of the orphaned Rawlins children; eleven, going on twelve, according to Carrie, an age which Miss Price calls "The Age of Not Believing." Accordingly, he is initially cynical and disbelieving of Miss Price's magical efforts, but comes around as time goes on; it is at his initial suggestion that Ms. Price uses the Substitutiary Locomotion spell on the museum artifacts. The Aristocats (Special Edition) • Escape to Witch Mountain • Return from Witch Mountain • Robin Hood (Most Wanted Edition) The group travels to Naboombu a land in a lagoon; there, the bed goes underwater, where Mr. Browne and Miss Price enter a dance contest and win first prize. Just then, the bed is fished out of the sea by a bear, who informs the group that no human is allowed on the island by royal decree. They are brought before the island's ruler, King Leonidas the lion, who is wearing the Star of Astaroth. Leonidas invites Mr. Browne to act as a referee in a football match. The chaotic match ends in Leonidas' self-proclaimed victory, but Mr. Browne swaps the medallion with his referee whistle as he leaves, and the group escapes, Miss Price turning Leonidas into a white rabbit when he tries to chase them. The restored version of the film premiered on September 27, 1996, at the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, California, where it was attended by Lansbury, the Sherman Brothers, Ward Kimball, and special effects artist Danny Lee. [14] It was later broadcast on Disney Channel on August 9, 1998. [24] Home media [ edit ]
