On more than one occasion, George had described her as a grizzly old grunion of a grandma. He also described her as selfish and grumpy and a miserable old grouch. She was not like usual grandmothers, who were lovely, kind, and helpful. Grandma spent each and every day sitting in her chair by the window, complaining, grousing, grouching, grumbling, and griping about one thing or another. She cared only about herself. Grandma also acted differently around George's parents. She only began treating him badly when he was alone with her. She was also quite peculiar, liking to eat insects. The last straw was when she frightened George by implying she was a witch with extraordinary powers.
