Description

Let’s begin with two GPU upgrade options that make the most sense – they have a good price to performance ratio and don’t require any changes to the hardware whatsoever.

Next in our lineup is the EVGA GeForce GT 1030 SC 2GB GDDR5 low profile graphics card. This particular model is a great all-rounder if you’re looking for a low profile graphics card that’s capable of taking on varied tasks.

Clock Speeds

P.S.: Another very good low-profile GTX 1650 card is Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 OC Low Profile 4G. ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 Low Profile Specifications First up is the MSI GeForce GTX 1650. This particular low profile graphics card is a worthy investment if you’re looking for a powerful low profile GPU. It comes with a variety of great specs that means it can do an impressive job despite its size. The size of your chosen low profile graphics card will likely be the most influential factor when choosing the best fit for your PC case.

GeForce GT 1030 utilizes an all-new graphics processor called GP108, composed of 1.8 billion transistors. It’s a teeny thing at just 70mm², thanks to the same 14nm FinFET process used to manufacture GP107. Compare that to GeForce GT 730’s GK208 chip with 1.02 billion transistors in an 84mm² die. Or how about the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, which we’re making the GT 1030 battle in today’s benchmarks? That card’s GM107 GPU has a similar transistor count as GP108, but in a 148mm² die, owing to its 28nm manufacturing process. Because of the above-mentioned benefits, low-profile graphics cards are mostly used in slim SFF cases and for building an HTPC. They are also used in budget PCs for light gaming, and for running multiple monitors for work. One of the best features of a low profile graphics card is that they are so much quieter than their standard, full-sized counterparts. Whereas a standard GPU could potentially make a lot of noise when the fans are whirring to try and cool the unit down, an LP GPU will be able to keep itself cooler at a much-reduced volume. These types of graphics cards don’t tend to produce as much heat as their full-sized counterparts, which could also play a factor in why they’re not as noisy as the fans have less work to do. The GeForce GT 1030 was an entry-level graphics card by NVIDIA, launched on May 17th, 2017. Built on the 14 nm process, and based on the GP108 graphics processor, in its GP108-300-A1 variant, the card supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on GeForce GT 1030. The GP108 graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 74 mm² and 1,800 million transistors. It features 384 shading units, 24 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory with the GeForce GT 1030, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1228 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1468 MHz, memory is running at 1502 MHz (6 Gbps effective). This Radeon RX 460 low-profile video card supports AMD FreeSync and CrossFire technologies. The card has lower power consumption (max. 75W) and it does not require external PCIe power connectors from the PSU. The recommended power supply for this card is 400W. Connectivity options for this card include DVI-D and HDMI ports. Highly Recommended by me. MSI Radeon RX 460 2GT LP Specifications

Best Low Profile Graphics Card in 2023

I own two used Lenovo ThinkCentre low profile PCs (i5-4570). They came with onboard graphic cards. One is used in the living rooms TV lowboard (10cm height for PC, just perfectly fits) and one is used as working PC in the workroom. I started with MSI GeForce GT 730 LP to have a little bit advanced 3D graphic capabilities for games. This card was waste of money in terms of performance, albeit it was very cheap. The card supports DirectX 12, OpenGL, and the latest version of Windows i.e. Windows 10. This is a great budget low profile graphics card and it is available for or under 100 dollars price mark. If this is not available then you can get Gigabyte GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 that has almost the same specifications and performance. EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 LP Specifications I have a fairly old SFF system (Gateway SX-2801) which is approximately 15″D x 11″H x 4″W – measured with the chassis in vertical orientation on the desktop.

ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 Low Profile is the second most powerful low-profile graphics card that you can get for your SFF low-profile PC or case for gaming. GeForce GTX 1650 is a budget graphics card in the GeForce GTX 16 series from Nvidia. The card is based on the Turing GPU architecture and comes with 896 CUDA Cores and 4 GB GDDR5 memory having an interface of 128-bit. It is around 25% to 30% faster than the GeForce GTX 1050 Tiand can run the latest AAA games on medium settings at 1080p comfortably, and relatively older games at high graphics settings at 1080p with 60 FPS on average. It’s important to keep in mind that the RX 6400 is using four PCI-Express 4.0 lanes, which may not be optimal for OptiPlex models equipped with PCI-Express 3.0. If you happen to reach the VRAM limit with more demanding games your frame rate will suffer. In such cases expect performance loss of approximately 14%. However, for 1080p esports gaming titles like League of Legends, CS:GO, Fortnite, Apex, Valorant and many others this is not an issue. OptiPlex 3010, 7010, and 9010 GeForce GT 740 is another powerful budget graphics card. Both GT 730 and GT 740 have 385 CUDA Cores but then also GT 740 is faster than GT 730 because of the newer GPU architecture and greater memory interface of 128-bit.Less Power Consuming – Because of their small size and fewer components, low-profile graphics cards consume less power than regular-sized graphics cards. Almost all the low-profile graphics cards do not need an external power connector from the PSU, and they work only on the power supplied by the PCI Express x16 slot. Also, you do not need a high-wattage power supply for them, as a budget PSU of 400W is enough for them, given that it is an average PC build. It comes with a variety of output ports that include DVI, HDMI, and Displayport. The card requires a decent 400W power supply for its working but some of the users have reported that it can even work on a good 250 Watt PSU. Also, it does not require external power connectors. The model number of this low-profile card is GV-N75TOC-2GL. So if are looking for a good gaming low-profile graphics card then you must go for this one. You can get this card for a little above 100 dollars. Highly Recommended Low Profile Graphics Card for Gaming. Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 Low Profile Specs
